EVENT PARTICIPATION

Postby amrehm » Tue May 15, 2012 10:57 am

Hey Gang,

Just a heads up & a reminder....

1.) I just got word from my t-shirt guy that only 12 orders have been placed. No biggie, but pricing was based off last years sales when we sold almost 50 shirts. 12 orders isn't enough to guarantee the pricing.

2.) There are 229 page views on the Friday BBQ ride posting, yet only 17 people responded. Its difficult for me to tell the place to prepare for 17 people & then have 50 or 60 show up.

3.) There are 124 page views for the Sat dinner, but there are only 30 or so people registered.

I do realize not everyone pays attention to this forum, but with that many page views we should have better numbers. Please keep in mind we do need reasonably accurate head counts in advance to be sure everything runs smoothly. We don't want to have a dinner prepared for 30 & have 70 show up. If you know people who are coming but don't check the forum, please direct them here or do if for them.

Likewise for the shirts, etc. It's not worth the effort to print 12 shirts.

Considering we booked all 44 rooms at just the Paradise, we should have better numbers.

Please spread the word.

See you all soon

Thanks,
alan

Also posted this in the Friday BBQ thread, but I'll reiterate here.

Please make it very clear to everyone you talk to that people need to preregister this year by going here:
http://www.armchaircommando.org/benning ... inner.html

I understand that a lot of people like to be impulsive or make it up as they go along or whatever, but we need to know solid numbers in advance. And it would be really nice for those numbers to be good. So far they're still pretty weak.

Everyone reading this, if you know people who are attending but don't check the site, please send them this way to register.

This is by far the slowest year since the start of the BTB .
This place used to be really hopping this time of year.
I hope we have a good turn out like the past years.
I know there are a lot of key people that won't be there this year.
I will miss them very much but, I am still looking forward to seeing a lot of the old faces
and meeting a whole bunch more new faces.

Billy,

Same here. The BTB is my one big vacation before incomming freshman registration starts mid june and eats up the summer.

Not a lot of "BTB traffic" on trat either.

I know we've got a bunch of new people showing up this year who aren't active on this forum at all, but even so, our numbers are definitely looking a little disappointing compared with past years. But I'm not really surprised. The economy has made it tough for a lot of people to just take off for a weekend.

But that said, our numbers should still be a lot better than any of the RAT Raids Triumph did up this way, back when they were still putting effort into RAT.

Just the fact that we sold out all our rooms at the paradise (44 x 2 people per room) would mean 88 people just at that location. I think thats pretty good. I don't remember having that many at the paradise before.
