Winter time I could live with the weather today

Postby JEnfield » Sun Dec 28, 2008 6:11 pm

I just got back from riding my bike got that peice of shit back together and away we went . 68 degress and cloudy but wow it was nice to rip up some pavement . Seeing how this was a test run you know I had to find the rev limiter in high gear. Yes folks I was breaking the law and yes you can find rev limiter on a Bonneville in 5th. scraped some pegs in the turns and even had the police follow me around town but to do it in light weight gear in December was cool as shit.

Good for you, Jimmy. Nice weather here in NJ too. Took a 60 miler - much wind and fairly slick roadways, but WARM. Saw about eight or so other cyclists, and we all gave an enthusiastic thumbs up, as though we were in the know about things. And we were!
A buddy and myself were thinking about a little trip tomorrow but temps look like the lower 40's. Hmmm...a little trip indeed.

Yeah David it was nice roads here are in great shape cause other then cold we have not had any white stuff falling from the sky yet this year. I would take 68 degress all year no need for heat and cool enough not to need AC and plenty of riding . I am going to check for the New Year Day temps cause I always roll out for a short ride it starts your year off right so atleast I had time to get fresh fuel and put my bike back together today.

Glad to hear some of us are getting a ride in.
I am hoping I can squeeze one in tomorrow. It will be cold and the roads will be full of sand.
But, this may be my last chance for at least the next 3- 4 months.

Glad to hear you got the bike back together Jimmy.
It's always a little scary the first trip out.

Yep thats why I smacked it off the rev limiter right out of the driveway figured it would be easier to push it a block then push it in the trailer after the OL figured out how to hook it up LOL. It didn't slip but when the weather gets cold I am going to pull it all down and replace my clutch not just the springs but WTF I got all winter besides my new cams are here and I really want to flow bench this head and do alittle porting before I axe the airbox and replace the carbs plus the ZRX shocks still aren't back from Bumps from the revalve.

Get- Fucking- Down ! Tearin' up the Bitumen ! LMAO.
Yeah... Today was a shocker, surreal isn't it ? Sat.& Sun. kind of out of sorts after the ice storm.
Ice be gone now. Good !
We got high winds and Thunderstorms and Lightning Sat. Night. Lost power again.
Didn't get out ... re-wiring mom's boiler & sump systems to accept Generator, also at my cousins assessing her roof damage - BF leak !
Thought about it though. We are still cleaning up from Ice Storm & further prep.
Campground is on the mind ! Speed.
May-June yet ?

Between the salt and sand everywhere all I could do was back it outside on Sun.and start it up. Have had quite a bit of rain so there might be a chance for next week if the weather cooperates. Careful out there Bro's. One nice day here and a rider next town over gets hit at an intersection. From the write-up in the paper it would appear the rider should have waited until the car went past him. Don't know for sure but the riders in critical and the cager didn't get a scratch. Speed Safe, Todd
