Bill They let the motorcycles in the back gate so you get to park in the grounds for free so no one fucks with your shit. I always meet up with people at the back gate in the mornings you can watch all the bikes coming in like a parade just park on the side of the entrance road . I will work out the details as we get closer I am going to ride in early Sat and leave sunday I think . If Dons wifey doesn't let him go I will be there on friday but they run a bike shop and its only open 4 days a week Thurs threw Sun so he doesnt want to close down three days I cant blame him selling tshirts and leather to wannabe H/D people is tricky bussiness but hes cool as shit you'll like him.

hey guys...whats goin on. I may or may not be at BikeFest..

I got pounded by a fuckin car friday night on the way back from GBBW and my fxr is trashed. Some roadrash..nothin broken..but the bike is probably totalled.

I had invited Bill down to stay wih me for the event, he is still welcome to do so.

If I dont make it to this have a great time...ride safe.

Pulled out of a parking lot...got about 30 yards and was slowin for stopped traffic and this assclown nails me from behind. No skid marks from his tires, just 1 big one from mine where he pushed the bike.

Image

Bike doesnt look bad for the impact it took, from point of impact to stopping point of the bike was about 30 feet give or take. The bike was buried in the front end of the car to the point where the car held it upright and just pushed it straight ahead.

I flew about 35 feet and slid to a stop in the asphalt median. Nothing broken, just pretty banged up.

Image

The scrape on the seat is from the hood of the car...cant be certain if I had left the bike at that point or not. All I remember is a loud noise, seeing sky...then sliding to a stop.

The frame is bent, bunno bout the swingarm. The motor seems fine, I had it started and running. But the trans is questionable, I'm sure I was in gear when I took the hit..

Not a very happy camper at this point...

Skidmarks from traffic behind the car that hit me...thank god someone back there was payin attention

Image

Skidmark from stopping point to point of impact, notice theres only 1 mark...not 5.

Image

Roadrash..theres more.....but this is the worst. My low back is swollen..and killin me.

My injurys are minor considering what they coulda been. I was lucky..[/img]

Oh man, I'll bet so. (road rash) Well , at least it is clear who is at fault.Sock - it - to - Em. I see the seat where the hood scraped it. Jesus. Sheldon you are so lucky.(If you could call it that.) We had one(Newspaper) comparable to that a year or so back. Ol' boy was sitting at a dual lane left turn light getting ready to turn left on to the bypass , waiting for the signal to go green...and here come some drunk young gal behind him.....She didn't hit the skids at all either. He wasn't as lucky.( If you could call it that.)They(Judicial system) put her up on involuntary manslaughter charges. (and rightly so.)
I am glad that your still with us. I sympathize about those bitumen scrapes. Seeping and burning pain in the ass they are , I'll bet. Pain pills from the Doc ? (might help ease some of the discomfort to those slow healing Bastards.)
Dude, I often wonder myself that there are a lot of Asspipes on the road... whether when I get better that I'll get back in the saddle..... incidentally my cousin wrecked her bike July 1st , she's O.K., totaled the bike , again asspipes. I'm supposing I'll ride at this point but with a clearer understanding of what's out there when I do get back in the saddle.
Sorry about the long commentary , Sheldon. We are all glad that things didn't take a turn for the worse for you. ( just got done talking to Jimmy on the telephone about it , amongst other things. )
:) Speed.

Thanks for the kind words...no need to apoligize man.

Edited to add that I seen a orthopedic doc today..I have a cervical sprain in my neck, and some deep tissue bruising..along with the roadrash. Again..nothin major, I couldve easily been hurt alot worse.

Adjuster from my insurance company comes out tomorrow..getting the bike hauled off to suicide cycles sometime this week..coop is gonna look it over then the 2 of them get together to see what coop found that the adjuster didnt.

We'll see what happens..

Cool but not cool on the neck. I'm a stainless steel welder so you know where my crook is at. Had some ancient injuries to the neck.....Every here and there they come back to remind me of how much I love my job ! LMFAO. Take care of that neck ! Bruises are no good as well , especially in that area.
Heal up , Bro ! Peace.
Speed.
