Was that some fantastic time or what!!! Had a spirited ride back with Bruce and Vicky down through route 2 in Ma. Bruce led the way and even with two up went fast enough for me to loose material off the tips of my shoes. When that happens I know hard parts are within a fraction of tossing some sparks. Picked up route 91 cranking it back to CT. and after stopping by their beautiful country home for refreshment rode back to my home and found that the grass already needed cutting. But did it get it? No, I didn't want to ruin one of the best weekends I've had in a long time by doing some work.
I thought this run would be a good time but it truly surpased my expectations. A big thanks to all who put in so much time and effort to make it happen. Stay great everyone, Touko
We live for this.

I dunno what it is about 6, but it wears on you

Hmmm.....Wide road, low speed limit? Traffic? 2000 miles of other New England roads in the previous five days? Getting home around ten as apposed to making it home in time for dinner with my family? I'm not sure.

When I was leaving town I remembered I had a phone number for a friend in Mass. He met me with his sportbike crew shortly after I hit 20 and took me to Sturbridge on roads that I don't think I could find with a gps. From there I slabbed to Providence. 8 and the parts of 20 I was on were nice, but slow going until I hooked up with the natives.

BlueJ,
I wish I talked to you about your route. There is a road that parallels 209 from Milford to Bushkill. No twisties, but you normally only see the park rangers when you pass their station.

I left about 10am, headed west & south. Took back roads through Troy & Albany & headed south down Route 30 (I think) through the Catskill. From there all back roads to Wilkes Barre. Couldn't handle all the slow old people & tractors on the roads any more & caught 81 back to Harrisburg. got home at 5pm. Lots of great riding.

Had a great time & way too much beer over the weekend, if thats possible. Thanks to those who helped set up the event. I'm sure it was a monumental task. Thanks to Robin for hosting a party & inviting all us strangers over for Pizza & beer.

Cheers,
Alan

The boys and I got home about 1 a.m. on Saturday. We took 7 down to 20 and 20 across Massachusetts then 32 South it was a pleasant and uneventful ride as traffic was very light. Just north of Pittsfield, I thought it started to rain but it turned out to be millions of bugs. It was so thick that we had to stop to clean our face shields
I wish we could have stayed for Saturday to ride in the rain. but remember crash has already gone down twice in the dry.
By Sunday, I needed another fix so Doug and I rode up to Moto market in Acton mass for a cup of coffee. That added another 200 miles plus to our weekend tally
now it's time to contact Seth and the rest of the Connecticut rockers for the rest of the summer's festivities.

Dr lapo, I'm sorry I missed you friday night. I really wanted to partake in the cigar fest. That just means that I get 2 next year. :)

Doc - apparently while you were on the roof smoking the stogies I was at the Pizza table eating all the slices that Hank missed out on! :) I wish we could have met but not to worry - if your gonna hang with the Rockers than your probably going to come up to Rhinebeck on Saturday the 14th for the motorcycle get together. The Rockers will meet me, Mattrat & UncleCharlie and anyone else who wants to come along at Marcus Dairy for breakfast before we make our final decent.

Made it home safely and no ticket! The bike is filthy but what the hell. See you all next year or sooner if you're going to the Nor east rally in NY.

Left for home Sunday around noon. Found a hardware store open in Brunswick and it took a while but I got my throttle lock fixed. Got a hotel room east of Buffalo Sunday night after riding through rain. Rode to Chicago Monday through more rain and stayed with my sister and her family. Rode home to Omaha today through more pouring rain and wind. Got home tonight around 8:45PM CST to a glorious sunset and BB Kings The Thrill Is Gone in my helmet Sirius radio. 2,659 miles in five days. I'm beat and going in like a lawn dart! Going to send in the paper work for my Iron Butt this time. Had a great time, but wish I could have got there sooner and made it to the party and been able to get it up again by early the next morning to go on a Saturday ride. After 1,314 miles in 29 hours on the way there I didn't think it would be too smart to do a spirited ride that tired, especially in the rain with others safety at stake. Still glad I got to meet a bunch of great folks and hang out with the crew at Bonniegirl's. Do it again in a heartbeat!

I'm glad you made it and was honored to meet you after hearing what you went through to join us! You should definitely have gotten the "Traveled through the most rain" award.

Oobaby, be sure to check the "Rusty Butt" box on the form!

Hedge, here's a good one of you busting up another fight at the Madison Brewing Company. I'm amazed we all got out of there alive. :) From left to right, Mark, Hedge and Oobaby...

Made it home!

Postby TonUp » Thu Jun 05, 2008 7:17 am

First of all I was say what a joy it was to meet you and ride with you all. It was a pleasure being social and getting to know you as well. Thank you for coming.

On Sunday morning I put on my still soaking wet leather jacket and gloves and headed North with Mark. I froze my butt off, we split off in the Rutland area and I kept heading home to grab a few dry clothes. Mark kept heading North to Cyclewise in Middlebury to let them know I would be there in 15-20 minutes.

I left home at a pretty fast pace and fueled up in Middlebury and Joe the owner of the shop washed my Speed Triple before loading it up in the trailer. From there we headed to West Lebanon NH for dinner with 11 motorcycles in 2 trailers and 2 pickup trucks. I was feeling the effect from the previous two nights at the BASH so I only had one beer with dinner. We continued to the Red Roof Inn in Laconia just south of the NHIS Track. The guys stayed up and party, I went to bed early after a hot shower.

Got up early the next morning, shower, got dressed and went out for coffee and a blueberry muffin. The we headed to the track. I ran in the Intermediate class with a group of about 30 bikes and managed to stay in the top 3 spots all day. You should see my tires they look like hamburger. Very soft and sticky compound. We had and awesome Track Day and headed back home, stopping for dinner at a different restaurant in NH. I had a few beers and a shot of tequila. got home around 10:30 pm and slept like a baby.

I am really looking forward into the Bennington BASH 2009!!!

Tito
