After the Putney run, as I understand it, for those coming up on Friday who won't be part of the Putney lunch, we'll all meet at the Depot street parking lot for the "gathering" of bikes around 5:00PM or so. Is this correct?

Yes, that's correct.

FWIW, I've been keeping the itinerary info on the main part of the BTB site updated. All information there is accurate as it currently stands.

Benny,
I went back and re-read it and you're right you were indeed talking about Friday. It all sounds good too, but why don't we go with marks group on Friday and head over to the bbq in Putney?

That's exactly what I plan on doing. If you want to meet me in manchester friday morning for a bagel (2 towns north of Shaftsbury) feel free. I'll be at the bagel works by 9:30. Then heading down to Bennington.

benny,
sounds like you got a plan there. Because I'm staying at a friends place every night, I may hang with them thursday night and bring them over to Robins on Friday. They have to work on Friday during the day, thats why I enquired. So, I'll probably meet you guys in Bennington to head over to putney with the group on Friday.

Hey Mark, is Dan B. coming over from the kingdom?

fyi...dont' count on the cafe for dinner (unless cookies and muffins are dinner for you). it's a coffee shop that runs a very limited lunch menu from 11a-4p. it is open 7a-7p every day.
i'm getting the phone list together now that i have been sent back to the north.

I don't think he is, unfortunately. I think he was saying that his daughter's 4H project won the local competition and got bumped up to the regional one, which is the same weekend as the BTB, so he can't make it.

I'm going for a Kancamagus ride with him this Saturday though, so I'll find out for sure.

This is really sounding good! I just crossed posted the Itinerary on all the RAT Yahoo boards for which I am a member.

Could some one start a new thread on the Triumph RAT net board that has the Itinerary on it? Tito, mark, dan?

Event itineraryFriday, May 30, 2008

Arrive in Bennington, check into hotels, etc. If you’re already around and want to meet up with other folks for a ride, use our discussion forum to make plans. Many of us are planning to get there in the morning and head out for a ride in the afternoon.

5-6pm: Meet & Greet in the parking lot that runs between Depot Street and River Street in downtown Bennington (south end of the lot). Ride in, hang out, kick tires, say hi to everyone.

7-10pm: Party at Robin's. Our own bonniegirl is being nice enough to invite us all into her ginormous apartment known as The Fort, 457 Main Street, for hanging out, pizzas, and beer. Her place is conveniently downtown; those wishing to continue partying on into the night can just proceed to the bars around the corner afterwards. (Be advised: The Fort has no number on the building, so look for a black marble face with an entrance in the alley between that building and the spectacle shop next door -- don’t worry, we’ll put up signs.)

Saturday, May 31, 2008

8am: Hemmings Motor News is opening up their museum early for us. It’s at 222 Main Street in Bennington, which is near the corner of Benmont and West Main. (Note: There is an entrance fee for the museum.)

9am: Meet in the Hemmings parking lot (222 Main Street) to join whichever ride group you feel like heading out with.

7:30pm: Dinner/drinks/music at Madison's Brewing Company, 428 Main Street. We're not doing a limited menu or anything; order from the regular menu, pay in the normal fashion. After dinner, we'll have two Vermont bands:
Bob Stannard will kick things off with his blues duo.
Husbands AKA will play their Burlington ska/punk later for those who want to rock out.
(Note: Saturday night’s events are subject to minor changes in details, so please check back occasionally.)

Sunday, June 1, 2008

Sleep in, meet up with newfound friends for breakfast if you feel like it, then ride out and head homewards.

How much is this all going to cost me?

In the grassroots spirit of the Bennington Triumph Bash, we're not charging anyone admission to any events. But that said, it is costing us money to provide pizzas and beer at Robin’s on Friday night, and we really need to be able to pay the bands, so donations would be gratefully accepted. We'll have collection jars set up at Robin's on Friday night and at Madison's on Saturday night and would be most appreciative of whatever amount you feel is appropriate.

Any money that’s left over after paying for BTB expenses will be donated to Big Heavy World (a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Vermont music), who's sponsoring us with hosting for this website and with a sound system for the Saturday night music.
Well done is always better than well said.
