Fair skies in the Green Mountain state!

Postby davidc » Thu May 22, 2008 7:42 am

I just set my Yahoo weather for Bennington and took a peek at the extended forecast: looks very good for the Bash. No rain, upper 70's, maybe 80 degrees. mid 50's at night for us campers. I am pleased.

Just ordered some NB Euro-style lights for my bike and hope to get them on prior to the bash. I shortend the stalks on the stockers, but that ET-looking taillight bothers the hell out of me. I think I'll like the Euros and the clear lenses to blend with the silver Bonneville.

Well, I guess we'll all see each other soon!

David

Ohh, there's that nasty R word again. Took a look on weatherunderground.com and the bad news is that out of the last 7 years it has rained on May 31st four times. Now the good news is that most of it was light rain and there wasn't one time during the better part of the day that a ( dry ) ride lasting several hours could not be done. That being said I believe we can all plan on having a wickedly good time!!!

Hey David, good luck with the mods and we'll see ya at the Bash!

It's a bit early to tell, since you can't trust anyone's 10-day forecast, but weather.com agrees with David's Yahoo weather forecast -- partly sunny and 70s.

I'll be keeping a close eye on the forecast, because it will determine which bike I ride. My Bonneville is definitely a dry-weather bike, so if there ends up being a significant chance of rain, I'll have to ride the V-Strom.

Check out Mistermellow's report and you'll not complain about a little rain. No problem. Anyway, I've put in for sunshine for the entire weekend. Not to worry.

Speaking of rain.... Anyone need a lightweight bike cover?

I recently got one on sale from JC Whitney, but it's juuuuuust a pubimeter too short for my bike. Like I can hook it on the front fender and it covers the rest. Anyone with a bonnie or sport bike need one? I think I'm going to get one for a mid size bike instead. Folds up to about the size of a piece of paper and about two inches thick. Has bungees to connect under the bike. Nice for travel. Let me know, just collecting dust!
02 BA, lots of goodies...
I may live in NY, but I grew up in VT! I'm a local for this one...
