my sons and I are planning to attend but I wonder if Vermont wlil welcome bikes using internal combustion engines and not peddle power. Is Bennignton a PC community and will I be allowed to smoke a cigar in public?

There are plenty of Republicans in Vermont. We even have a Republican governor. Keep in mind that this is the only state in the union in which you can legally carry a concealed handgun without needing a permit, so Vermont isn't quite the liberal bastion a lot of people like to say it is.

As for the cigar, I don't think you'll have a problem with that either as long as you don't try to smoke it in a restaurant or bar.

I'll pass on the cigar, thanks. My mom, smart lady that she is, let me smoke one when I was 12 or so; I puked my guts out (whereupon she asked, "Still want to smoke cigars?"), and even the thought of smoking one has made me nauseous ever since.

In response to the original question, I certainly hope so since this somewhat conservative republican just married a liberal democrat from Vermont.

as long as they stock up on dome Guiness and Yeingling black & tan and I'll be fine.

Better bring the camera to make a "photo record" of the college kids graduations.

for the history books of course.
