ordered the beer

Postby bonniegirl » Sun May 11, 2008 6:24 am

i got a log keg of long trail and one of otter creek stove pipe porter. two tasty locally brewed vt beers. both brewerys that i have been to multiple times. long trail brewery has a nice little pub resaurant on the river with outside seating in the summer. lovel and i were there in march and the snow was still 1/2way up the windows. if you go to the longtrail brewery, watch for the sherriff on rt 4 in bridgwater corners (right mr smith!)
i'll also pick up a case or so of more popular generally appealing beer for those who arent' adventurous and something light for those who want to offset pizza and pie calories.

Thank you Robin!

I used to ride with the previous Brew Master at Otter Creek Brewing in Middlebury years back.

Awesome!! I've never been to either brewery, only been to the Sam Adams one, but I'll have to make a point! My mom went to the Magic Hat and got me a pint glass, very cool. Escellent choices Robin! Can't wait.

No wife is not going to do the 400 miles on the back of the bike. And I really dont want to be going through NJ on a bike before daylight to make the 10:00 am time. SO bike in the back with the grill, cooler and tailgating supplies.

Tell the wife we totally understand! I think your making a very wise decision. You will arrive in Bennington in great shape and ready to ride Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday!

Just a heads up - I think that Sunday's departure is very loose and nothing is officially scheduled. I think everyone should decide when they want to leave and do there own thing. I will probably leave after breakfast myself so that I'm back home in the early afternoon. I doubt Mrs Hedge (Jeanne) will come but I will keep asking her.

I'm a coke fiend too, so I'd be happy to pitch in for the soda run too! I'm usually only good for a couple beers, and I need my caffeine fix after a long day in the saddle!
