I think they started having issues with jamming and whatever they did with the second generation took care of the problem. Don't know this as fact, but heard it through the rumor mill. Sig may have had a similar problem for a brief time a few years ago. I know for a fact that Glock was having problems with the .40 when accessories were attached, but they made a change that seems to work. I'm not an armorer, but I hear them chattering about that stuff frequently. By the way the problems I have heard of were with specific models and not the entire lines of production.

Jimmy - I hope your kidding! Please do not risk transporting any weapons interstate.

The problem is not transporting firearms into Vermont, because our laws are very easygoing. Unfortunately, some of our neighbor states are entirely unreasonable.

If you want to bring along a gun, check the laws of the states you'll be traveling through. New York has pretty draconian laws -- you're not allowed to transport a handgun through the state even if it's unloaded and disassembled, unless you're on your way to a sanctioned shooting event. Not sure what the laws are in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

By the way, concealed carry is allowed in Vermont without a permit. It doesn't matter what state you're from, you can carry a concealed handgun in Vermont. So there's no need (once you're here) to do stuff like putting the unloaded gun in one bag and ammo in another.

Have you seen the HK 416? Nice alternative to an mp5. Mp5s are getting scarce and parts are hard to find. On the other hand factory .223 ammo is scarce. I'm not a gun nut, but I get to play with smgs at work.

I just checked it out. I'll take one of those in civilian dress, hopefully chambered for the 22-250 with a heavy barrel

I got to shoot one with the 10.? inch barrel. Very smooth. It didn't have forearm grip, my only two gripes were that the heat shields got hot even on semi and the picatinny rail was hard on the hands, even with gloved. But the stick takes care of that and I got it right when it came out.

Brett, by the way, what day do you plan on getting to Bethel?

Works for me - but I think they are LEO only! The SIG 556 is banned in CT.

I have always done my own 1911s but I will find a smith worth haveing up north for ya. I did have pinnacle do my 625 S&W with a 6 inch comp slab side turned out hot. The MP5 is a very nasty little carbine. I shot two of them one semi and the other auto selective good little CQB weapon but I still prefer a tactical shotgun . I understand about the income thing wifey is still pissed over the seven guns this month that she knows about 8 & 9 will have to be snuck in the house. Man I have 5.56 nato rounds at the shop some dip weed brought a half of case of nato ball said his father passed and his mom wanted it out of the house. SS109 lake city.

That would be okay other then she would then bitch about the golf bag and just another fuckin hobby I picked up . My brother and I used to have a racket we would dive at the local golf courses ponds and retrive balls then clean them up and sell them back to the driving range for range balls made a shit pile of money over the summers. Middle of the night and no one ever caught on just wondered how we came up with so many top quality balls for sale.

Does this range rent long range rifles. I only get to use carbines and entry guns. Never get to do any shooting over 100yds.

I think a man should own atleast a gun for everyday of the year and two spares for each Sunday. I will keep buying till I reach my goal a man has to have a goal. I like long range can I come along and watch I promise I wont get in the way.
