Who is riding Daytona, Sprint or Speed Triple to the BASH?

Have questions about the event or the area? Want to plan a ride in with others who are coming? Here's the place for it.

Sounds like you did it right. Can't wait to hear it run!

Odd numbers are bad JuJu everything has to be even and three is odd LOL. Kinda like a third wheel. Triples are like a tricycle was cool to ride as a kid but you didn't want YOUR FRIENDS TO SEE YA. Kidding peps its been a long day.

Mine's still a 790 with stock carbs though so wouldn't be able to keep up with Bill's firebreathing beast... especially with my fat ass on it!

Tito,
You do know I was kidding! I'm still debating which ride to take on Saturday. I'm still learning this bike. It's a little change after the Sprint. About the same power, but I'm still learning how to handle the twisties. The Sprint just fell into them. I'd hate to do something stupid and mess up my cross-country ride. I already have one ticket from Vermont! Ask Robin. If you ride as fast as I think, my next stop will be jail. That would not be the way to start my trip.
We'll see. I'll have a month or so to practice on the Tiger. I'm sure bonnevillebilly will push me with his new powerband!

John, if you prefer a slightly more moderately-paced ride, I'll be leading one that crosses into upstate NY and also hits some really nice twisties. But I need to keep my speed reasonable because I have two tickets in Vermont, so the pace won't be as quick as Tito's Gap ride.

Brisk PACE

Postby TonUp » Thu Mar 13, 2008 12:30 pm

Let's not scare anyone. We will be riding at a BRISK and SPIRITED PACE. I can not get any tickets either.

Our really fast rides are during the Hot Summer months on T- Road, once a week. My definition of really fast is triple digits most of the time.

A dilemma. Which ride?

It'll be that last second in the parking lot Saturday morning when I see Tito lift the front end of the Speed Triple to head out of Bennington and I'll be like one of the RATs in the Pied Piper and follow. Reason won't prevail. But that's why I ride.

Damn, they both sound like fantastic rides!

Rides

And Mark is a great ride leader as well. I hate having to go on a separate ride. It's Dan, Robin, Jason, Pete, Mark and myself that get to rip the backroads together most of the time.

Mark and I plan on doing the PUTNEY ride on Friday as well, hope to have Robin, Paul and everyone else join us.

Yeah, I hate having to go on separate rides too, but that's what we get for being hosts. :)

Speaking of Dan, I haven't gotten any word from him as to whether or not he's coming to the BTB. I know he was thinking about it, but it sounded like he might have a conflict with something else. I'll have to touch base with him.

PS: John, don't let me give you the idea that Tito's ride will be pushing triple digits the whole time, just that I'm going to try not to exceed the speed limit by more than 10mph on mine.

I'll go if you keep it below 146mph
I yelled at my kid for going that fast on his 675 the other day and would not want to then go even faster as he wlil be joining us
the other kid went 160+ but he may not be coming with us
I've only done 132 on the Speed Triple so far and I know its got more but I'm gettiing old and 150+ is starting to feel FAST to me

I love the idea of a good rip thru the gap, really need to monitor the speed this year. I lost my safe driver rating from State Farm after my last highway rip. I'm up for the ride at this point no matter how you ride. Just understand that if I can't keep up I'll catch up at some pre-designated spots for breaks/gas. I do enjoy the bad juju of a triple stretching its legs. If i get my pipes on before then I'll love it even more.

Tito, it looks like it might be more then 12 bikes, what would you consider a good number that you would cut off the remaining riders?

134 in fourth gear, 153 in fifth, not topped out in six yet.

A group of under 20 bikes would be fine, if larger we can improvise, we have plenty of designated areas. I have never lost a group yet. We keep the pace interesting.

WE also let you know ahead of time of rules and guide lines. We want to ensure you of a great ride and that you are safe and grinning a lot.

Tito,
I'm looking forward to Saturday's Gap on my '99 Sprint ST. Tell me, just how much bail money does one need to guarantee a timely return from Vermont????

I'm up for the GAP ride. I just can't get any tickets... or bye-bye license.
