Talk about thrifty transportation... Parked next to a Smart car the other day, took a couple shots for perspective...

First time I saw a Smart car was in Amsterdam in 1999 or so. I thought it was hilarious.

I think they actually make sense for use in cities, but I wouldn't want to take one on the interstate...

Do you know what that thing would look like if you pulled it out in front of anything above another sub compact. But then again we all ride bikes so I guess we are in no better shape. I cant get the vision of a smart car verses a peterbuilt.

I drive a 2006 VW TDI. It gets 40+mpg and with the modified ECU it hauls fucking ass. My car will spin the tires shifting into 3rd gear. Piss on hybrids, give me a hot rodded VW diesel anyday. My car makes 150hp and 255 ft lbs at 4000 rpms.

Dude where in the hell have you been ? I was just getting used to your smartass wisdom. I like Vdubs man my dad used to biuld kit cars and we had some hot ass aircooleds. I played with a turbo rabbit back in the day staged double shot and a turbo set at 20 lbs that thing would smack some ass on the streets.

Would it still be a smart car if it had a Hayabusa engine?

It should get better MPG. My 99 Jetta TDI was getting 43-61mpg and about 48-50 mpg consistently. Great handling cars lots of power, I miss my Jetta. Had over 220k miles on it.

That's so fucking funny because that was where I first saw it as well. Funny that you guys should mention Amsterdam because Mrs. Hedge and I are leaving for Amsterdam Friday night and will not be back until Sunday March 16th. I have been over there many many times. My best friend in the whole world lives there and we will visit him. I use to have a real nice garden apartment in Surinameplein back in the day.

It's getting kinda busy for me now. When i get back I have to get the office ready to move to a new location in the middle of April and I'm getting my brake foot operated on to get the bone spur out on March 26th. I have to tell you guys that the shifting side is almost back to perfect now. I can put full weight on it and I can even run. I will definitely be good2go by the end of May and riding way before that!

So by the time I finish the Office move in the middle of April it will be Spring here already and the roads will have been swept and vacuumed of all sand and salt and the bike will come out! By that time I should be walking good enough to mount her and ride as well!
