using riding to keep your mind together?

Have questions about the event or the area? Want to plan a ride in with others who are coming? Here's the place for it.

There is very few moments in my life that the constant chatter of thoughts is cleared. I am in a world that over-stimulates me with information that causes me to never stop thinking. They say that Meditation is the key to clearing the mind - I find that the hardest part of my program. Just sitting there alone and trying to clear my mind of all thoughts and get in touch with my inner being and my higher power is very difficult.

There have only been two times in my life when this has been achieved:
1. Whenever I ride a motorcycle my mind clears of all thoughts except of what I am doing in that exact moment!
2. Whenever I do down hill skiing the same clearing happens and I am in the moment!

Being in the moment is one of the best feelings in the world because nothing else matters - not all the shit from yesterday, not all the fear that tomorrow might bring or might not - but Now, this very moment in life! :-)

I think I have found a group of riders that are into riding for the same reason I do. Ride to enjoy life, enjoy life to ride. Thank you for helping me find my mind.

on a second not, I tried pot when I was younger and never liked what it did to me. So i was never able to loose my mind to anything far worse. If I find any extra minds laying around I'll bring them along.

Thank you again

Face piles of trials with smiles, for it riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave. How's that for some 70's refried philosophy? Haven't listened to the Moody's for awhile but that's the way I remember it at least.

Hey guys, sorry to rain on your parade, but please don't discuss "illegal" music sharing here. The organization hosting this site is involved in music, and could potentially get in trouble if we allow members here to arrange trades of copyrighted material.

I'm sorry to say, but I'm going to have to delete those posts.
