Hey Tito, I wasn't sure when I would be riding to Nova Scotia but I and the normal crew I usually ride with have decided on Aug. 1st as the start date. The plan right now is to ride up to Portland ME. stay over night and take the Cat ferry to Yarmouth. From there to Halifax, St John, Augusta ME. and back home. We'll be staying over in those places (except Yarmouth). Only 5 days all together but I think it will be a blast. Perhaps you have gotten it already but if you go to NovaScotia.com you can get a free booklet geared specifically for bikers touring Nova Scotia. Once I looked through that it cemented the trip for me. Adios, Touko

Tito -- Have you picked your dates yet? We have our annual audit at work the week after the July 4th holiday, and I absolutely have to be here for that. But if you plan on being home by the 6th...or if you leave the weekend after..?

I have to talk with Mark but I might have to change the dates to later in July or first week in August. I will let you now ASAP.

I really wanted to go around the first week because the first 2 weeks in July are always pretty active, music, festivals and outdoor events. I figured 9 to 11 days and about 2,700 to 3,000 miles. Part camping and part Motels or Cabins by the seashore.

I am going to review my travel guide and see what I come up with. I am ready for Cape Bretton and the Cabot Trail, seafood, music, fresh sea breeze and great scenic views and of course the twisty roads!!!

Tito!

I got my Nova Scotia motorcycle packet in the mail today. Looks like an awesome place to ride! So good, I'm wondering why you want to push into New Brunswick and Quebec instead of spending a week exploring the Maritimes. I'm thinking catch the ferry from Portland to Yarmouth, riding the entire perimeter, check out the Bay of Fundy, then back via Maine.

You figure out any dates yet?

I officially ordered my V-Strom and accessories on Friday, and need to arrange the financing this week. Plan is to go sign over the check on Saturday.

Looking forward to the Maritimes trip!

Tito, if you're taking the Cat that's half my budget right there. Way too steep for me. And there's just no way I can be out of town the week of our audit at work. Maybe we can time it so I can meet you guys somewhere up there as you're coming back our way.

Hey Mark, congratulations on the new bike. Just took a look at it on the web and it appears to be a well built and designed ride. I'm sure it will be quite at home on the highways as well as the many dirt roads up there in Vermont. Good luck with it, Touko

Mark & Pete!

I will look at the alternate route via St.John Ferry to Digby. Can we ride all day Friday to make it there?

I am looking at the entire trip all over again.

Thanks!

Tito

Yeah, $150 Canadian, so whatever the exchange rate makes that when we travel.

Plus, that ferry runs seven days a week at 9am and 4:45pm.
