Mark sums it up very well although the speedmaster and bonne america are awsome for comfort over the standard bonne for those that aren't comfortable on a sport bike type riding position. I almost bought one but didnt feel I had the control with the leg forward riding position. Being 6 foot 3 and 275 the upper body weight felt very strange when I stacked it up in the corners on the test ride. But wow it is a smooth ride.

Paula are you real and where in the hell have they been hiding you from the world. First a woman that likes to ride has awsome tastes in music and loves vintage iron. You rock thats to cool my dad has a Knuckle and a Pan sitting in the old coop and I hear it all the time someday when you get enough time I want you to get those things runnin. I guess I need to make time for it but when it sucks to be a grown up. Gotta go to work and its snowing seeya .

Na Modre cologne will get your ass hurt in my line of work Horses have sensitive noises and tend to act up when your under the horse the last thing you want is bad actions.

It may be a cruiser, but it's about 200 lbs lighter, and way quicker on its feet than anything else thaT I've seen for cruisers! A nice compromise. Definitely not a sport bike, but can be set up to be so much sportier than most cruisers. Or can be set up to be more touring oriented. REally interesting spectrum, ya know? If I were to get a second bike I have a hard time thinking if I would go sporty like S3 or more sport touring ya know?

The S3 is not a very good touring bike. That's wide I have a V-Strom and a BMW for. The S3 is for being bad, evil, wicked, naughty and troublesome. LOL

Current holdings - A near mint condition 1973 YZ 250, and a 2005 black Speedmaster
Years ago, Yamaha made a BSA Goldstar replica, with a single 500 engine. Had one of those bought new, and offered it up to the Road Gods of route 343. Traded the carcass for a 68 Chevelle. Offered that one up as well. The Chevelle frame is now a trailer for my oil embargo inspired Wisconsin twin powered wood splitter & buzz saw. We heated with wood and only wood in three family households for a number of years. I would do it again if I really had to, but would prefer not to thank you. It got old spending so much free time on sawing BTUs.

Gave up the 70-something Honda XL250 and the Yamaha FZ6 last year.
Had several small commuter-type bikes in the 80s: Honda CX 500 (remember that one?), Honda Hawk, YZ 250...but gave up riding for more than a decade because my deployment schedule while on active duty with the US Marines left little time for riding.
Sure am glad to be back into it!
