Ya know the cousin that I mentioned who is head chef at Two Brothers in Middlebury? His step dad is a chef at Rosies. It was my grandparents's favorite place to go!

Tito, ya know the chicken farm on Rt 7 in Salisbury at the north end of the flats? My grandparents lived across the street next to the sand pit for like 30 years. I basically grew up there. Always knew we were getting close when we passed the gorilla holding a VW! Then they lived in Brandon for 10 years before my Grandpa passed. My cousins lived in Middlebury their whole life too, so yeah it's a small world! They still live close by, my aunt and her hubby (the chef) life there, as does my uncle Jeff and his son Willy, and my grandmother lives with them now. Small world for sure! I used to drive up to lake St Catherine to meet my grandfather for a round of golf!

Robin!

It's an old BMW, there is a Barn across the road " EMERSON MOTOR WORKS, David Seagal" south of Rochester on RT 100. There is a huge flea market there during Americade Weekend every year.

Anyone ever been to that random tiny little motorcycle place in Pittsford on Rt 7? Never looks "open" but he's got some old iron in there...

PROVIN's Sales & Service

Postby TonUp » Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:37 pm

It's Called PROVIN'S in Pittsford VT on Route 7. It was a BMW and Triumph, BSA repair shop. Lloyd Provin was a great man, rider, mechanic and friend he past away last year. His Son BUD is taking over soon, he is one of the best motorcycle mechanics in the country. He presently works for BOB's BMW in Jessup Maryland.

I really miss going to the old shop to pick up parts for my old BMW bike and for the conversation. Lloyd always had a joke for me.

I attended Lloyds funeral and placed a miniature SPEED TRIPLE on his casket. I also wrote a very nice letter to our local club in his honor. He was the Original TON UP PIRATE!

Awesome story thanks for sharing! I've been by there a million times and never stopped (never really had a reason to...), always wondered about it tho.
