Gerry,

You still have that place to stay and tour of the museum available to you when you come to Birmingham. I hope you have not lost your passes to the museum.

No, still have everything.

I had hoped that this years bash would be the one to celebrate my retirement. Unfortunately it did not work out that way so looks like one more year unless I can bail around Christmas time.

my wife's grand niece decided that the Bash weekend would be an ideal time to get married soooo we're heading down to Charleston, SC on the day I normally would be riding up to Bennington Can't say no go as Joy has lost three family members in the last year and 1/2 and this is the first time we will be together for a happy event.

How's Robin doing? I've pretty much been cut loose by the docs at the cancer center. Seems like I have beat the odds.

I'll think about you sorry lot having a great time in VT with every cookie I eat on the way down to Charleston. The biggest thing I'll miss is the free Birthday beers!! :snork:

Gerry

p.s. I met up with a really great Tiger 800 rider last Sunday. Rides a lot even X-country. Told him about the Bash and gave him the url.

Well enough that the plan is to ride up to the Bash again this year. Congratulations on your victory.

I had a couple of bashers stop by my office today. Apparently they are ready to go and getting antsy! The KoF and Brian stopped by on their Tigers to check out the the new Scram and pester me in their riding gear. I was jealous of course but we will all be riding soon in the Green Mtns!
I might sneal out later today myself.

Our count down is a little different than most peoples. The 2 1/2 week trip we take around the Bash begins one month from today. I can hardly stand it.

Paul,

If you have the time I'd like to know the route you and Robin take to get up/back, also interested in your overnight stops, daily mileage, etc.

Starting to plan for next year.

Not a problem. Robin usually picks a general direction and a flexible route. This year we plan on heading east out of Birmingham.

One year we spent the whole ride up hiding from the rain. Had to go straight west for the first 5 hours or so then follow the front up.

The there was the year I losy my sense of direction in Cleveland. If anybody sees it please bring it to the Bash. I sure as hell miss it.

We will put something together for you.

If that's the general direction you're going, try to hit up Rt 52 heading east out of Chatsworth, GA, past Fort Mountain State Park. Trust me, you'll thank me.
