2013 BBQ ride - Friday May 31st

Postby amrehm » Tue Apr 16, 2013 9:57 pm

This years BBQ ride will be to Top of the Hill BBQ in BRATTLEBORO, VT. We will plan on leaving the Meet & Greet from the parking lot of Bennington Station around 3:00 & riding as a group to the BBQ joint arriving there no later than 5:00. Rain or Shine.

They will be setting up a buffet similar to years past which will include - 2 meats, 3 sides & drinks. Chicken, pulled pork, slaw, beans & cornbread.

The cost will be $17.00 cash in advance to Alan (amrehm) at the Bennington Station prior to departure. Upon payment you will receive a wrist band. The wristband will be required to eat.

I will need to try & get a general head count about a week prior, so if you are planning on attending the BBQ, please reply using the poll on this thread. I do realize there are a bunch of people that do not follow this forum, so if you know of someone who isn't on here & you know they are coming, please include them in your count & let them know they will have to pay cash in advance.
Anyone who is meeting us at the BBQ & not riding as a group will have to locate me & pay/get your wrist band prior to eating.

AGAIN THIS IS RAIN OR SHINE...WHEN I GIVE THEM THE HEAD COUNT I HAVE TO PAY, SO IF YOU ARE A FAIR WEATHER RIDER & WILL BACK OUT DUE TO RAIN, DO NOT INCLUDE YOURSELF IN THE TALLY UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO PAY ME FOR THE NO-SHOW.

If you wish to prepay using Paypal, you may goto the link below to submit payment to me. I'll have your name & wristband available at the meet & greet.

*****DO NOT PREPAY VIA PAYPAL AFTER MONDAY 5/27 AS I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WITHDRAWAL THE FUNDS BEFORE THE EVENT. YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY CASH IN ADVANCE AT THE MEET & GREET.***

Thanks,
Alan

We will be at the meet and greet, probably at Hemmings on Saturday morning and at the dinner Saturday night but we are not doing the BBQ ride and most likely will not do a ride on Saturday. Still will be great to see everyone. We are really looking forward to this.

Has the sport bike ride been shortened to less than 12 hours since Tito doesn't lead it anymore? I know we had a few complaints about the speed and the length in the past but everyone was always prewarned it would be fast and long.

We didn't even really have it last year due to Tito's absence and the crappy weather. Also, many of the roads Tito favored have deteriorated to the point that they're actually dangerous for riders who are unfamiliar with them (and impossible to peg-scrape on even for riders who know them well).

That reminds me, though, I need to find someone to lead an alternate ride this year.

Please note....there are people that are pre-paying via papal but the poll count is not going up. Please add yourself to the poll count even if you prepay so I have an accurate count to give the BBQ people.

thanks

I voted but there will be two of us going. There are going to be 4 others coming down with us also. Not sure if they have signed up but will most likely going.

Alan,
There are 2 of us that plan on going.
We will be leaving from the parking lot.
But, if it is pouring rain, then I will be
"A FAIR WEATHER RIDER & WILL BACK OUT DUE TO RAIN"

In for the ride over, pre-paid for the feast (pulled pork...yummmm!)

This is assuming a slow old guy in a Tiger 800 roadie can follow his GPS over Rt9 when he loses sight of the group. ;)

Only two guys ever got tickets on the group ride over to get BBQ and they were some serious hooligans. :naughty:
