Robin, Like the Bird.

Robin(Bonniegirl) and I will be missing the Bash this year. She has metastatic breast cancer that has moved to her bones, liver and lymph nodes. At this point she is still in fairly good health and is still working. She does get tired easier and she does have some pain in her hips.

We had the second round of chemo last week and she came through with minimal problems. The tumor in her breast has gotten a bit smaller and they started giving her a drug to fight the bone cancer.

The prognosis is not good but we keep going and taking it one day at a time. Any good energy or prayers sent our way are much appreciated.

I am not posting any of this information anywhere else but I know so many of you really care about Robin and I felt like you needed to know and Robin agreed with me. If you want to send Robin any well wishes the address is:

1411 15TH AVE S
BIRMINGHAM AL 35205

I will keep you informed of any drastic changes(good or bad). Other than that keep us in your thoughts and have a great Bash.

Love Paul and Robin

Now that it's out in the open...

I'll be the only remaining founding BTB organizer this year, but I've got a couple of people stepping in to help out. I'll make more announcements about that later.

And this year's BTB will be the official "Best of luck Robin, we all love you and hope you'll kick cancer's ass" Bash. And hopefully next year can feature the triumphant (pun only slightly intended) return of Robin and Paul so we can make it the "Robin kicked cancer's ass" Bash.

Robin and Paul, you are both at the forefront of my thoughts, and if there's anything you need, say the word.

Paul and Robin,
My thoughts, prayers and Reiki healing energy are with you both. For several years I worked with state/federal level breast and cervical cancer screening and treatment programming- I'm not familiar with support programming in Alabama specifically, but if you'd like me to look for support resources for you both as Robin moves through her treatment, please email me. There is a LOT of support available to make the walk through treatment more managable for all involved, and I'm happy to do whatever I can to help you both be strong.
Sending love.
Paula

Paula, Thanks for the offer. I will talk to Robin.

Matt and Seth, Thanks guys. I will tell her you are thinking about her. She is a good hug. I hug her as often as she will let me. I don't know if she will post but I will get her to look at the site.

I'll +1 on the get well wishes. :plusone:

I've know way too many people with one form of cancer or another. Some have recovered, going on to seemingly live forever. I'm not sure if any prayers from me will help, but I'll send some positive energy your way, anyway!
I believe a positive attitude does wonders, so keep smiling!

Thanks for the prayer, positive energy and well wishes. They are appreciated and needed.

Round three chemo is tomorrow. Hopefully it will go as smooth as round two. We are keeping a positive attitude although there are a lot of ups and downs we are up way more than down.

Went fishing on Sunday and Robin caught three Bass while I caught zero. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.
