No, Tito, thank YOU for all your energy, enthusiasm, and hard work -- we couldn't do this without you!

Looking forward to doing it again next year!

Thanks to all. More names than we can remember. Mark, Robin, Tito, CT Rockers, The Station restaurant, Hemmings and all the rest. A fabulous weekend! 900 miles for us and not a drop of rain. As far as we know, everyone got home safe (although Tito's DMV record took a bit of a body blow). We were truly blessed this weekend.

Take care all,

John and Betsy in Brunswick, ME

It didn't make up the entire shortfall, but it made a very large dent in it -- enough to think of it as a compromise. And Kevin, the manager, did say he would definitely like to work with us again next year. We'll make it a little easier on the restaurant by setting up some sort of presale system, perhaps through Paypal. We'll still need to sell bracelets at the door for last-minute attendees and those who don't check the website, but at least we'll have a much better idea of numbers.

Thanks again to everyone who donated for your generosity! It was a gesture that was deeply appreciated both by us and by the restaurant.

A prepay via paypal is a great idea. Everyone that comes to the event knows about this web forum or was invited by someone on it. Having them prepay & receiving an e-mail receipt as proof of payment to turn in at the door to be seated should work. then we have an exact count for dinner well in advance so the station can prepare, making maybe 10% extra for those at the door.

Takes pressure off those trying to collect & keep track at the door.

my 2 cents.
