Dammit, which sleeping bag to bring

Postby schuitz » Wed Jun 01, 2011 9:11 pm

Looking like low 40’s at night for the next few days, and it's always a few degrees cooler in the camp... Hard to imagine since it's been SMOKING hot for the last two days...

Bring the down bag, and maybe roast...
Bring the synthetic bag, and maybe freeze...

Wait. We are talking about about Kamp Krusty here. Odds of being too warm at night: 2% . Down bag it is.

My wife bought me a Kelty bag, the cocoon type with a nifty hood attached to keep my head warm. I forget the temp ratings, but it is pretty low and packs very small.
Last year up at Krusty, I froze my nuts off! Then got rained on for 100 miles. Ahhh, the great outdoors.

 Camping.. double yikes....I know you will need a sleeping bag at the Kirkside but I think we should be okay at the Paradise

Forecasts are actually talking about mid/high 30s in the vicinity of the campground. So yeah, I'd go with the down if I were you.

I only have one sleeping bag, a 35-degree synthetic one, but it should be fine. I'm bringing a fleece along in case I get a little chilly.
