:) I was just warning a guy up in Canada itching to ride that cold tires (new ones are worse) and cold pavement don't make for the most fun ride you can have...I was out with my Wing with it's brand new Bridgestones 10 days ago for Buck's open house and it was 33F and snow in the air...you can bet I took that ride real easy up and back...

Good to hear that you are fit and ready for your next ride...certainly could have been much worse..I'm betting that insurance will total it from the sounds of it...call them and buy it back for cheap..I did that with my Tiger after I totalled him with a big bambi...You could end up with a new 800 for cheap money
Raised on the farm to be tough and work hard...Don't expect anything you haven't worked hard for..Appreciate what you've earned..Be happy and thankful..

Well, sounds like I should find out in about two weeks. Stopped by my dealer yesterday evening, and he told me he'd just gotten off the phone with the Triumph rep, who told him my bike has a VIN number and is on its way. He claims it will be here by April 15.

I also spent about half an hour going over the black non-ABS XC my dealer got in on Monday. Glad I was able to -- gave me a chance to figure out how to mount all the accessories I need to add before my May trip, which means I can concentrate on getting my Tiger broken in once I get it instead of wasting time figuring shit out.

Holy crap, I can't wait!

amrehm wrote:Man, word travels fast. Unfortunately, I was the one riding it. 3 of us from the shop took some demo's out at 9am before we started the rides with the public. The bike being brand new with new tires not scuffed in yet & a 35 degree temp made them pretty slick. went into a right hand corner about 40 MPH & the front tire just washed out. I rolled pretty violently & hit the dirt embankment, then the bike hit, spun around & hit me in the head, then hit the phone pole. The bike is a mess. I have a couple bruises. Have to get a new riding suit.

You have no idea how pissed off I was. I had the 1st & last ride on the new 800. What a fantastic bike. I'm sure you will love yours.

I really f*cked up the open house. they had to call all the customers signed up to ride & tell them the tiger was now unavailable for test rides. Of course I stayed & helped out around the shop, so anyone that came in to ask about the new Tiger, they just pointed to me & made me go show them.

I'll find out tomorrow how we handle the situation after they call the insurance co.

Thankfully, they didn't rip into me, they just busted my balls all day. I'll never live this one down.

Holy CRAP Alan!! You never said anything in all the emails we exchanged this week! And to think I wasn't even going to read this thread because the topic was a non-topic. I had no idea this little tidbit of news was buried in here! I'm so glad to hear that you're alright (with the exception of your pride).

On the upside... You can likely claim title to the "very first* Tiger 800 wreck in the U.S....maybe even the WORLD!! :lmao:

Let's make sure you get all of that out of your system prior to our trip to North Carolina in May.... ok?

Nope, some journalists took care of that at the official launch in Spain last November. :lmao:
