Someone Please Start A New Topic

Postby jefff1 » Tue Mar 22, 2011 6:17 am

Will someone please start a new topic so we can have something to discuss or rant about...The riding season has started here in WNY although they are predicting 4" of snow tonight/tomorrow....I'm done with sledding so I want to ride now

Thank You

I put the top down and took the dog for a ride on Sunday, temps in the 40s. Temps today are low 30s with snow.
my bikes are still hibernating although the boys took their 675s to work on Friday

 Well after getting my new tires mounted I just had to go for a ride this past Saturday...okay so it was 33F...snowing with a nice breeze blowing...I figured what better a day to try out the new tires and my new Gerbing microwire coat liner and gloves...they are lot less bulky than the previous generation of Gerbing which had a lot of coarse wiring through it...I went up to Buck's which is the Triumph dealer just outside of Buffalo..needless to say only one other person rode their bike to the seminars and he didn't have far to ride in...Mine was about 40 miles each way...heated gear worked great and I had a swell time at our Triumph dealer...Also picked up a pair of Triumph touring boots for $123...glad I went...

Took both my "girls" out for some exercise over the weekend. Today went by a local dealer to check up on things. He is getting a Tiger 800 ready for demo rides :-)

Mark- you've got me thinking.

A couple of the guys at the seminar last Saturday were talking about the 800XC and seriously wanting to check it out...just don't know if I want to take a $10k bike off road a whole lot...you can pick up a DRZ 400 or KLR 650 pretty cheap for those duties and not feel so bad sliding those on their side down the dirt and gravel

I'm working at the local Triumph dealer this sat to help with the open house & demo rides. all the new models are supposed to be in. Looking forward to the new S3, tiger 800 & the rocket roadster. Lets hope the weather is nice. right now its supposed to be clear but with a high of 38!

well if you had knobbies on that Tiger and were a real man you'd ride in the snow unlike all those wimps who arrived in cages at Buck's Saturday! LOL

Yea, i've ridden in the snow a few times this year but the shop won't let a demo bike out in the snow. Gotta be dry pavement.

Interesting that they're still having the open house. Triumph has moved their official date to May 6.

I'll be curious to hear whether your dealer actually gets a Tiger 800 demo in time... especially as Triumph is supposed to be concentrating on getting preordered customer bikes out before sending demos to dealers (one of the reasons they moved back the official launch, from what I've heard).

Still no word on when my XC with ABS is supposed to arrive.

They wanted to move it back but by the time Triumph notified the dealers of the issue, all the advertising was in place & couldn't be changed, so they had no choice. As of Friday, the S3 & one of the new 800's had shipped & was due in this week. I haven't talked to them yet but I'll be at the shop tomorrow to find out.

That's interesting, because my dealer confirmed some time ago that the launch event had been postponed, and told me last weekend that it's been moved to May 6. Maybe they're just letting it slide for dealers who already publicized March 25.

Strange, though, since word of the delay started filtering out weeks ago. Guess they took their time spreading the word to all dealers.

Link isn't showing any pictures.

Is the bike they got in white? I know Triumph got a shipment consisting almost entirely of white non-ABS bikes (only shipment they've received so far); maybe they didn't have many preorders for white bikes and were able to send some of them out as demos.

Can't wait till MY bike comes in!
