Good Morning all!

My 17 year old son a junior in High School received an academic award for math and science last night from RPI at the awards ceremony! I am pretty proud! Both Janet and I attended the event. He is looking at Aerospace Engineering schools.

Congrats Tito! RPI is a great engineering school itself. My son applied there many moons ago.

Great school! You'll have to visit him often if he attends RPI when he graduates, as the Dinosaur Barbecue will be open just down the hill from campus.

If he wants to know anything about Cornell, let me know. I went there.

Congrats Tito...his mom must be a genius...lol......You have listed off some real-deal schools...My best friend tried RPI back in 1973...too much work he said for too low a grade...very tough school....
Raised on the farm to be tough and work hard...Don't expect anything you haven't worked hard for..Appreciate what you've earned..Be happy and thankful..

I have a daughter at Bryn Mawr, so let me encourage you to start stuffing your mattress with every dollar you can spare! She is taking a summer course in Italian at Skidmore this summer, and her textbook was $120, and that was used! If this is your first one in college, you are about to experience the joys of FAFSA forms and College Profile forms. Trust me, you are going to need your bike for alot of unwinding after going through those every year.

I told my son that I would pay for 4 year of college and that has come back ot haunt me. He is in his 3rd year at UCONN so I only have about $12,000 more to go
a summer class in calculus just cost me $1300
lets see: 4 x $12,000= $48,000 + $1300 = how many new motorcycles???

If you really want to make yourself depressed, try dividing how much it costs by how many hours they are actually in class.

My daughter, a 2nd year student in High School, has been taking A.P. classes and doing very well. So Brown U. invited her to take summer classes there. I see a lot of "deficit spending" in my future.
