Vanilla Bean

Postby drlapo » Fri Jan 11, 2008 9:27 pm

there is an upscale coffee house in Pomfet CT, NE corner on RT 169. The Vanilla Bean is a popular "biker" meeting place on weekends. They even have beer.
RT 169 is a "scenic road" which runs roughly parallel to I-395 along the eastern border of CT
easy to get to via RT6 and 44 from the west, RT 14 or 138 from RI or drop down from MA at Sturbridge
I am attempting to gather Euro bikes there on the 3rd Sunday of the month
I have invited the members of this group to join me there and I'll pay for the coffee

WATCH THIS SPACE
we'll firm up the plans as the weather improves

I have a friend in Oakdale. Maybe I can coordinate a visit to his place on a meeting weekend! Not far from the ferry for me.
02 BA, lots of goodies...
I may live in NY, but I grew up in VT! I'm a local for this one...

I think I might have to get a different bike for all this northern riding like a Rocket 3 something I can haul camping stuff on.

Coffee

Postby TonUp » Sat Jan 12, 2008 12:53 pm

We do have quite a great selection of coffee spots in Vermont, hope you folks can come up and visit anytime. We can do other rides in the warmer months. So far I have 6 rides plan for this year, the longest ride is 10-11 days long.

Finding coffee, pie and great diners are always a good enough reason for motorcycle travel in my book.

Paula!

The place I am planning as a lunch stop for our longer group ride has awesome pies. I really like their Coconut Cream!

Doc - you know I'm in being based out of Stamford but I will probably not be mounting my bike before the 3rd week of April since my right foot is being done on March 26th. So I figure by the 3rd week of April I should be good to go - after all I did think to get the shifting side done first even though the right is much worse! :-)
