I know you have all heard of Puxatawnee Phil but have any of you ever heard of Birmingham Bill?
He is our resident groundhog here in the Magic City. The reason you haven't heard of him is because he sucks as a weather forecaster. A month ago Bill did not see his shadow and claimed we would not have six more weeks of winter.
I know this may be light to you guys in the far north but we are still dropping below freezing every night. What the hell is up with this. It is supposed to be spring down here in the deep south. Robin says I lied to her about it being warm down here.
Signed,
Still Cold in Birmingham
P.S. I do still ride every day.

If you could see out my window right now, you would know why those of us up north feel no pity for you at all. Definitely none at all.

I know it isn't really a lot to complain about but we are having some strangely cool weather for this time of year. It's not the temperature itself but how long it has been continuously cool.
It does look like we may get the sixties by the weekend. Yippee!!
Almost swimming weather.

I'm really trying hard not to smile:) Maybe this means the North will have an early Spring?

I'm ready for Spring. I think I'll call the highway dept and see when they'll be sweeping the sand off my street.

Hey guys I was out snowmobiling last night and digging it...we got skunked out of snow most of the winter so I'm happy to have some now...plenty of time to ride bikes ...
My parents live in Alabama too...Lillian near Gulf Shores...a nice place to visit in the summer...condos on the ocean...

Spring is definitely coming on up here in northern Vermont. We've only got a couple inches of snow left (here in Burlington anyway), the roads are clear, and daytime high temps are above freezing.
It's always possible we'll get some more snow (that's possible in Vermont well into April), but if we do it'll melt quickly. It'll be a while yet before stuff starts turning green again, but it's definitely getting nicer out.
I even rode to work today. I actually never really stopped riding this winter -- managed to ride every weekend so far this year except one, when the roads were too snowy -- but haven't been riding to work because it's not really worth getting geared up in all the layers just to ride three miles to work and then have to change again. Warm enough today that that wasn't necessary.

As I look out the window this fine morning it is once again snowing in Birmingham. It's not sticking but it is coming down pretty thick.

I think the global warming is starting in Bridport. Seems like Tito has disappeared or at least he doesn't spend near as much quality time with his computer as he used to.
Tito, are the nights in Bridport warmer than they used to be?

If you can't say damn cold you got nothing to complain about.
Are you guy's coming again this year? If so Robin can take of with me and whoever for a smaller group ride again. Should be out scouting some roads soon. First ride tomorrow.

5 could be tough unless we have a dedicated group up for a long day maybe even leaving early. Of course I'm game if anyone else is. Will try to see what I can come up with. Its the 5th state that is the ringer. Has to be either Ct or ME both add a lot of distance. Could get the 4 in again and get on some different roads.
P.S. I was in your neck of the woods yesterday dropping of my daughter at NTID on the RIT campus. Did the round trip in one day so I can go riding today.

Hope you're well Brian.I'm game. Maybe do Mt Greylock if we hit Mass? Or maybe go to the top of Okemo? Whatever-I'm in for the Long ride Round!
