I got time this morning to open the door shovel a path to the road and burn the old gas out of the tanks. Bonnie got fresh oil air in the tires and filter cleaned and a fresh coat of wax ready for riding to begin. Gixxer got same but the piss screamed out of it down the highway till it smoothed out EFI and old gas sucks. Thinking about ya"ll when I was riding so I will try to check in every now and then.

Hey Jimmy

Great to hear from you brother,
I hope to see you this year at the BTB we missed you last year.
I read the post on speed/ Steve I hope he still plans on making it.
I know it may be tough for him with the new farm out in bumfuck and all.
We had a great time last year even with the cold and rain.
This year will be sunny and in the mid 70"s

peace man

Billy, mid 70's really?! And sunny! Man that's great!! Trying to get the time needed for this run again. With weather that good I may just have to call out sick like last year.

Good to hear from ya Jimmy; it may not be like back home but wait till ya try the bbq up there. Ah, good times.

Lets see.....new rear tire...changed brake fluid front and rear...handle bar risers...gps system...oil change...and a 50 degree day today so I took the beast out for a ride. Man, that was fun! Had to stay off any backroads cus of the sand but all the main roads were fine. Got gas and a cheap cigar before cruising to a state park for a smoke and a look over the CT. river. Just got to get my rainsuit (which is backordered) for the run and I'm ready. I'm only bringing it cus that will ward off any rogue rain clouds. They hate it when your prepared.

Cheers!

What's taking you so long, Tito? I've already put well over 1000 miles on my Wee-Strom this year. :D

He's getting too old to take the cold anymore.

I just got my Legend out yesterday and rode it the 40 miles home in about 35-40 degree weather. Started instantly and ran fine, although the exhaust fumes let me know the fuel is old (I'm thankful for blue Stabil). I beat last year's first outing by 7 days, I think. A good rain this weekend should clear off a bunch of sand and salt still laying around here in the Adirondacks, but it will be a bit longer until the frost heaves settle back down. I've got valves to adjust, intiminators to install, and maybe a new seat from Bill Mayer. I'm still thinking about that one.
My bike magazines have kept me going through the dark winter months (I do admire you year-rounders, especially near Burlington, for Pete's sake!) Has anyone else fallen in love with the new Ducati Multistrada? Red and black, and I just found the first test ride online last night. Expensive for sure, but what a package! I'll never part with the Legend, but the retirement Tiger may just become the retirement Multistrada. Geez, that's one cool bike!
I can't wait to ride around Bennington again. Hopefully this year my buddies and I can get an earlier start and attend more of the activities. For any of you might be interested, I am the organizer for this year's Classic Triples Rally, and I'm hosting it in Wilmington, near Whiteface mountain and Lake Placid. Lots of great roads over here to ride, and we have a motel/campground basecamp that is very reasonable. Here's the thread from Triumphrat if anyone needs more info, or you can drop me a message:

It's nice, but I'm a whole lot more interested in the forthcoming Tiger Cub (or whatever they're going to call it) -- Triumph's answer to the BMW F800GS. I'll be buying one as soon as it's available.

The bike was apparently presented to dealers at the US dealer meeting a few weeks ago. It's coming, it's just a question of when.
