With June not too far away at this point, I thought it made sense to start a new thread for camping so people don't confuse old and new information.

Seth, could you post up the Connecticut Rockers' plans for group camping sites?

Let's use this thread for organizing this year's camping.

Thanks all!

I am going to camp at the Bash! Think I'll buy a Thermo Rest self -inflating mattress for my aging bones; the foam pad just isn't gettin' it.

Therma rests are like sleeping on a piece of toast. Go to a department store and get an eggcrate foam mattress topper. I fold mine into 3rds, then roll it up and carry it in a sleeping bag sack. If you strap it on the pillion area, it also makes a great back rest while you are riding. Weighs nothing, and is light years more comfortable than those self-defeating, whoops, I mean -inflating, pads. Or you can go old school and get a big air mattress - the only problem is by the time yoy get one inflated, you're too tired and light-headed to ride! (just kidding about the air mattress - they are worse than the Thermarests, though not by much)

Hahaha, awesome description!

I use one, but only because it's super light and takes up very little space. I can't say it's the ideal solution though.

I plan on attending. Just a quick question about the camping. I have been incontact with the campground people and they told me that I can have either a site by myself or with the group. The group site sounds great, what is usally done?
thanks

The way we handled the group site last year was that Seth compiled a list of everyone and paid for the site, then we all paid him our share.

Seth, still willing to do it the same way? Have you talked to the campground folks yet?

Add two more to the list. My brother and I will be riding up from Ithaca NY on a couple of classic twins.

Your 99% right Mark....

What I did last year was a paid for a majority of the people last year....Then when the extra peeps came and camped we settled with the Lodge at the end of the trip... Im just waiting for a couple last rockers to pay me then Im grabbing Site 9,10.. those were the big sites on the end like last time...

When I call and reserve the sites Im gonna set up with the lodge a list or the people who are arriving on Wed... Thurs.. or Friday.... The then keep track of who's there...

Im calling them this weekend...

**OK NOW A SERIOUS QUESTIONS** - Who lives in Bennington.. that will let us rockers park a truck at there house with all our gear for a couple days????? PM me on this

Cheers
SETH

PMs are disabled, Seth, so have people email you or just post here. But why not just park the truck at the campground?

By the way, put me down as a Thursday arrival. Already put in for the extra day off work.
