Looking for a good run in VT

I will be in Stratton VTat the end of next Week and I was thinking of heading up North for a ride. Maybe the Northeast Kingdom or the West side past Burlington. Any particular roads you VT folk would recommend/avoid?

Lots of choices, especially in the NEK.

You could follow Rt 100 up to Newport, then take Rt 111 over to 114 and follow 114 south to Lyndonville, then 122 through Wheelock and Sheffield to Rt 16, then south on 16 (nice sweepers).

Another option would be Rt 109 from Jeffersonville to 118, 118 north to 242, and 242 up to Jay. There are some really nice twisties, but the road was in need of repaving the last time I was there. Granted, that was a couple years ago.

Alternatively, you could head northwest through the Champlain Islands on Rt 2, then cross into NY at Rouses Point and head south on Rt 9 through the Adirondacks. That's a nice ride too.

Rt 110 between East Barre and South Royalton is nice -- a bit bumpy in spots, but nice turns and great scenery.

And of course there's Rt 17 between Bristol and Waitsfield (the App Gap).

Thanks Mark. I'll look into those roads. I am leaning towards the western portion of the state.

The riding's not as good in the western portion of the state, FYI. But the ride up through the islands is nice.
