Another reason to have this event

I just read that Honda is pulling out of its biggest most attended event for gathering motorcyclists. The Knoxville honda Hoot is not sponsored any more. I bet that we could draw even more riders with a great grass roots event like ours. We need to stay strong with the word of mouth advertising of this. No failed government bailout or failed CEO bonues program will keep us from living our dreams. Triumphs on the oipen road is the best way to forget about the spoiled rotten fat cat american CEOs not getting their bonuses.

honda pulled out of F1 for 09, and also pulled their bikes out of AMA super bike? If honda is having a hard time with these, I hope the other manufacturers aren't. Honda must be hurting.

Everyone is hurting look at the third quater postings Harley will be looking for a bail out soon and so will any of the other bikes out there you cant buy one if the bank will not make the loan. The dealership I bought my Bville from says truimph uses GE money yes General Electric who lost thier ass month and a half ago to make loans on new Triumphs so guess what isn't selling right now. So much for the banking world to make good on thier end of the bail out to use the money to boost the economy what the fuck did we give that money to them for.

the TV ads to buy your unloved gold is a bad sign. a definite shift of wealth under duress...but that's how the game is played isn't it?
Honda still offers the 50cc and the 600cc scooter but did away with everything in the middle...I don't understand that at all in this climate. I would have put the eggs in the 150-500cc basket when gas hit $4/gal. I'm not sure what they're doing other than making space for China's production and fat profits at cheaper yet labor costs.
it's like every rat is grabbing a mouthful and jumping ship.
I have to assume if suppliers are going to take your deposit check and not deliver, the better position is not to be vulnerable with tit caught in a wringer orders and just sit back fat and happy and wait it out. the signs are not good.
not to worry tho, if you have tools and abilities, bad times only hit the consuming public...it never reaches the clever and immune...actually this is the time for folks with hands to clean up...everything will soon be for sale cheap and scrap metal is where you want to be positioned...no one can fix anything...that pretty much ended a generation ago.
you have to remember in the crash of '29 the guys who sold short made fortunes.
sell short means:
borrow stock at $100/share and sell it at market... committed to pay back the loan in X time.
as the market falls and the stock becomes worth $2/share, you buy it at market and repay the stock loan obligation...you made $98/share.
suppose you did 5K shares...you made $490,000 minus fees and taxes while everyone else jumps out windows.
and that's how the game is played...it has nothing to do with ethics.
with 250 years of the best and brightest running it right into the ground, you can't really take them or it seriously.
we'll always have BJs and firewood...you just need to prioritize what it is that makes you happy.
also, don't work for the man...he'll use you until it becomes more convenient to throw you out.
that's pretty much the secret to life.
have skills and don't be dependent, the recession/depression will never touch you.
the negative effect is proportional to the addiction.
the animals all around us aren't aware of any market hic-cup what-so-ever because they have no dependence to it.
does that make sense?
the rest will die in panic cursing God...a poor choice IMHO.
but then, all the info was there the whole time and it comes down to the choices we made along the way.
the Am Ex corporate pigs I worked for used to tell me:
"lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part"
I can't wait to dance on their graves.

I had a jerk ass boss that would preach that line of shit. It was his catch phrase, the dumb fucker couldn't even think of his on catch phrase. He was "managing" his employee (me) by screaming at the top of his lungs threatening to fire me for follow the rules he made the month before. I finally told him to fuck off and walked out. The next fucking person that tells me that will get kicked in the balls or the place where the balls should be!
This was very usefull post. Thank you
