Sadly, it looks like we're going to be rained out on Saturday.
Weather.com is reporting an 80% chance of rain here in Burlington, and an 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms in Bennington. The National Weather Service pretty much concurs.
But at least Friday will be nice, and the Saturday night party is indoors!
I'm totally undecided about which bike to ride. I really want to ride the Bonneville, of course, but it really sucks in the rain -- no fenders, gutted airbox with pod filters on the carbs, it doesn't like to stay running in the rain. I might see if I can put the front fender back on tonight, but I don't think I'll have the time -- need to pull the front wheel to do it.
I'd feel stupid showing up on my Suzuki, but that bike will run all day in the rain without a hitch. Plus I won't get as soaked because it has a windshield and handguards.
Dammit! Decisions, decisions.

You do know if you ride your V-Strom, it won't rain. Seeing as you're leading a ride, I vote you bring the V-Strom so the rest of us can ride in sun.
To be serious, why even debate. Bring the V-Strom and know your are okay for any weather. We know you love your bonnie and are a true Triumph guy at heart.
It's more about meeting each other and about the ride. Do you think you'll still be having the rides? It doesn't sound like a full day's worth of slow rain. We should have pockets of sun.

I hear ya, Mark!
I'm definitely going to be there for Friday. If I had a place to stay I'd come down this afternoon but Tim's campsite isn't available till Friday as I recall.
Call me a wimp, but when I set up my 30 year old dome tent in the front yard the last time it rained to see how the waterproofing had held up...I had 1.5 inches of standing water inside the next morning! So the answer to my question was, "Not well."
I'm off to Burlington to check out new tents. I figure the odds of having ten dry days in Canada are slim to none.

We're riding up Friday, which I know the weather will be nice. If it rains Saturday I really don't care because the ride up will be beautiful enough. Like said in an earlier post , I could spend all of Saturday hanging at Hemmings and with all of you guys. I just hope it breaks for Sunday for the ride home!

Accuweather says there is a 30 % chance of rain which means there is a 70%
chance it wont.
And even if it does it is only 2 hours out of the day.
It may not and there is a bigger chance it wont hit us up there.
So start packing and lets get rolling.

Bill,
That's the spirit! When I sailed, there was a saying. "Wait for the weather, wait forever." I can't tell you how many great days we had while others we waiting at the dock. See you tomorrow morning!

Don't go by me - I'm coming regardless. My point was only . . . if it did rain I would be just as happy hanging with all you guys on Saturday in Bennington shooting the shit and glad-handing! To me, it is more about that then a Saturday ride, not that there is anything wrong with good weather and a Saturday ride!

Let's hope the Accuweather forecast is right. Weather.com and the National Weather Service have much more dire forecasts.
But then again, this is Vermont, and the weather cannot be accurately forecasted. There have been plenty of days with forecasts of 80% chance of rain that turned out to be beautiful.
But I will probably end up riding the V-Strom, and wearing my Triumph waterproof jacket and pants. That probably will guarantee that the rain stays away.

Yeah - I'll just run out this afternoon and buy a pickup truck big enough to hold two Bonnies.
Would you still be rolling if you were riding all the way?
