Tuneboy calling Tito

Postby Touko » Thu May 15, 2008 8:43 am

Hey Tito, I've got some real good news from Wayne at Tuneboy. Now before I tell you; a word of caution. Most of us would rather starve than see our bikes go without and you have some good runs coming up so I don't want to see that lobster roll turn into a hotdog and bun. Actually I like hotdogs just as much as long as they have chile on them but that's not the point. You can use the Tuneboy anytime so there's no rush.

This is the email I recieved from Wayne this morning. The graph didn't make it through so I am sending it to your home email. Basically,
before tuneboy with very similiar set-up as yours is HP 117.38 and Tourque 73.72
after using tuneboy. HP 124.33 and Torque 76.06

Hi

The attached dyno graph shows a 2005 1050 Speed Triple.
Blue line is the bike with a sports pipe, filter and the Triumph off road pipe map.
Red line is after mapping with the TuneBoy software.
You can see in the blue line that the bike made the same peak HP as your friends bike and an extra 7hp after the remap.
You can also see that a big hole in the torque curve has been removed.
The thing that mad the biggest difference to the HP was the ignition advance, the Triumph maps have the advance very retarded.
I also increased the rev limit on this bike from 9450 to 9900 RPM.

I think the results are very good.
The 2005 and 2006 S3 is the same so it should work well in your friends bike.

Thanks

Wayne

Subject: New tune for a Triumph Speed Triple

Good morning Wayne,

A while back (Jan.) you sent me a tune for my stock 06 R3 Classic which you had made for someone using a dyno. The install was easy and the tune has been fantastic!! I would like to know (before getting a new tuneedit key) if you happen to have a tune that might get my friends 06 Speed Triple more HP than he currently gets. It has been dyno tested at 117HP with the Triumph off road pipes, new Triumph map and a BMC air filter.

Best Regards, Todd Pike

Thank you Todd!

The Tuneboy will have to wait. I just received a new set of Pirelli Diablo Corsa III tires for the Speed Triple, I also signed up fro a TRACK DAY at NHIS on June 2nd.

Thanks!

Yeah, those are some high dollar items (gotta love new tires) and better to not take out too much of the riding budget now that the season is finally here. It can always be done another time. If anyone else is interested in using it see me at the bash cause without doing any performance mods I won't likely use it for the rest of the summer. Hey, we're almost there,

Very very tempting! I must wait a little longer!

So all I need is to purchase the Tune edit key?
