Hedge, here's a link to the Britjam.
http://www.britironct.org/ I posted about this event a while back but just to refresh it was one of the best bike shows I've been to. Very well organized with food and drink at reasonable prices. Admission to the event was ten dollars and that included being put into a raffle to win an antique Triumph. This was the first time I had been to a British M/C event and I came away wondering why I hadn't been to one sooner. Looks like it will be Aug. 17th at the Haddam Neck Fairground.
Cheers, Touko

Yeah, it's really well worth it. The area around this event is some very nice riding as well. Rider Magazine did a write-up about this part of CT. while touring the CT. River in their May 08 issue. Only a couple years ago the Britjam was held at a Rod and Gun club just a couple miles from my house (and I didn't even know) but it has grown considerably so they are now using the fairgrounds which has plenty of parking and good facilities. I know what you guys are thinking "how could he not know if it where at a rod and gun club only a couple miles away"? All work and no play make Jack a dull boy that's why I bought the Triumph in 06 and started living again. Cheers, Touko

Having gone for many rides in this area I will be happy to put on my tour guide hat and show you guys around. Plenty of good pubs, coffee shops, and burger joints to choose from. If you haven't seen Gillett's Castle ( it's a real Castle built by William Gillette the author of Sherlok Holmes books) then your in for a treat as it's right down the road from the Britjam. Nearby is an excellent state park and ferry boat ride over the CT. River as well.
Speed safe, Touko
