Bennington Triumph Bash

Ok, for just under 100 dollars I changed out my stock fork springs to progressive springs and changed the fork oil from 5w to 7w. The front forks don't have that diving feeling anymore when slow braking ie: stopping at signs or when riding in a run thats moving slowly. Front end feels much more secure at high speeds around corners that would normaly pull the forks down and give the overall suspension that disjointed feeling. Now I'm a cruiser but for the times one has to take a corner sharply I like to feel like I'm on pavement and not a sponge. So for my money I believe aftermarket springs is money well spent. That is of course if one is having the same experiences. Trying to keep the shiny side up, Touko

I like what you did! Great mod! What about also a fork brace to prevent fork flex at speed in corners?


But I would have to say that it depends on the bike and style of riding. For my Speed Triple the best mod was Sticky TIRES (soft compound) and lower air pressure.

What kinda bike Tuoko? I did progressive springs a couple years ago, LOVE them. Doing fork oil very soon also. New brake pads made a huge diff too.

Bang for the buck tho, sealed beam headlight.

On my '04 Sprint RS---RaceTech springs and softer front brake pads. That has tranformed the bike. Also got rid of the stock mirrors and went with barends. Oh yeah, also Michelin Pilot Roads. The only other thing I'll do at some point is a CF slip-on.

Did the progressives on an 06 Rocket 3 Classic and I hadn't thought about a fork brace but I'm generaly not doing twisties at very high speeds. Wondering now if I should try some new brake pads but must say that the bike seems to do a really great job of stopping when you have to snatch-up a handful of brake lever. Tires are really pricey for that beast so I'm going to hold off on that until needed. Mirrors, Headlights.... Hmmm, got to think some more. Touko

Proof of insurance and three lettes of recommendation required. You would be surprised at how easy the R3 is to ride. Balance is excellent and it's quite tame as long as you don't whack the throttle. Yeah, who's not going to do that? When you come down we can find a stretch of open road but I get to ride your bike. Touko

I will ride your R3! I will not corner with it. You can ride my S3, Do not whack it open in the lower 3 gears, she will stand up!

It's ok, I've ridden one There's a Triumph open house next week, hopefully the dealer here will do demo rides again!! I want to see a Matte Black S3 in person!

I'm waiting for the next open house over at Gengras in Hartford to try out the Tiger. Wouldn't sell the R3 but I can't help but like what Triumphs doing in the sport and sport touring world. Touko

Got the email today, the dealer here (Ramp) is having an open house next saturday, the 26th. I doubt my bike will be back together by then, but I may drive down to check it out.

Does the seed need to be planted or just giving it a little water? Like a new father fresh from the nursing ward I was taking pictures of the bike I liked best and posting them at work, at home, and on my desk top. I think the people at work were going to chip in to help me get it just to shut me the fuck up about it. Be careful, and I wouldn't go in with a loaded check book. Ahhh... yes I would.

I love those stickey tires as well. The problem is I can't afford new tires every 6k. If I rode like you it would make it a point to be able to afford them.

That why I have 2 touring bikes with long lasting tires. S3 only goes out about 2K miles a year.
