Completely Different Animal

She is a completely different animal now.
Between the 904 big bore, port polishing the head, the Mikuni HSR 42mm carbs
and eliminating the air box and opening up the pipes.
There is a whole lot more then I expected this thing is really an animal.
I just finished installing the Barnett Heavy duty clutch plates and springs
This thing is really a beast the power is unbelievable.
The new plates grab like a someabitch.
Every thing has a totally different feel to it now twisting the throttle
is nothing like it use to be the RPM’s get up there very fast.
Riding out the clutch is totally different also when she grabs she “grabs”
Just for the fun of it and, because I can’t go any where because of the weather
I did a very cool burn out just out side the garage. Smoked it pretty good
with no effort at all.
I so can’t wait for a good day so I can take her out.
I have a feeling it wont be easy keeping the front wheel on the ground.:D

might as well hit the deer with the meaty part of the bike and follow thru perpendicular...I hit with the headlight and fairing and wasn't that impressed with the chincy-ness.

I can see red hot steel and a crankshaft as a crunch zone...let the deer think twice before playing tackle again.

...maybe loop back and hit it again...

I got a chance to take her out after work tonight 40° out brrrrr but, I'll take it.
The roads are still pretty sandy.
I'm still working on fine tuning every thing.
Well she wouldn't power wheelie I could feel the front end lift a little off the ground
but, she wouldn't come up.
I could roll at about 10-15mph , rev her up to about 5-6000 rpm and dump the clutch
and she comes up pretty good but I loose my balls to give her any more.
Maybe once I get use to her I will give her a little more till I can keep her up there.
Man! ! ! I can't wait for spring.

Be careful Bill, sounds like a monster. 904,Mikuni 42's, Freaked and did I read right a Barnett- Clutch Assembly, Heavier duty I assume ? In see you took it out despite the temperature, I don't blame ya',a fella has got to tweak his machine the way he likes it and if your like me after all that work you want to get it right, tune - wise. I'll bet when you dump the clutch she comes charging out of the gates, criminy you probably don't even have to dump it for it to do that - AIR - RUBBER. cool. Speed.

Hey Speed
I still have some miner adjustments once I put a few more miles on her.
Right now she is running very strong. I am still working on getting use to
All the changes I’ve made.
If you are thinking about doing the 904 big bore it is well worth it and
If you have the money for the Mikuni’s they will give you every thing
The 904 has to offer and a whole lot more.
You will be amazed at how much more power your bike will have.

Hey Bill,
Not to sound like a jerk, but be careful this time of year with that new power and dumping clutches. From an unfortunate experience, cold tires and cold pavement don't mix! I flipped my Sprint about five feet in the air once because I didn't warm up the tires. I'd hate to have you mess up all that hard work.

It's getting close to the season. I'll be in touch for a ride together. I need to hear those pipes up close.

Hey Speed
you know after all the work I have been putting into my Bonnie all this winter she doesn't
look any different.

I find it funny how a lot of guys will do all kinds of stuff to there Bonnies you know,
like chopping and bobbing there fenders , re moving there chain guard, putting on
rear sets , installing clip-ons, putting on that ugly bump on the rear of the seat.
They do all kinds of shit to make it look fast.

Every thing I have done does not make it look fast.
She may not look any different but, Boy OH Boy does she feel and sound different :D

Bill
She looks just like this except for the throttle cables are different and the carbs
look like a couple of polished bricks
Image

I missed my Hedge 8 Ball chock pull that was on my stock carbs But, I fixed that.
I drilled and tapped it out to fit my Mikuni's

Image

Every thing I did is in the engine or hiding behind the side covers.
