Bennington Triumph Bash

I have a couple of friends that own BMW's, they wanted to know if they would be kicked out if they came along with me.?.? I ride with them alot during the summer. We just had a midwinter's drive in for food and fun since the bikes are stored. Would love to bring them along.

How big is the Dirigo RAT pack anyway? Only found a few guys riding Triumph's up here in the Bangor area.

Can't speak for the organizers, but IMO the BMWMOA crowd has always been very decent to us by inviting us to their meets, and we ought to return the favor.

That's enough talk about my BMW...let's talk about you...what do you think of my BMW?

As far as I'm concerned, friends of Triumph riders are welcome even if they don't ride Triumphs themselves. (To be completely honest, if the weather ends up sucking that weekend, I'll show up on the V-Strom, not the very rain-unfriendly Bonneville.)

And it took years of therapy to get me to say that! Most of you know this.

I have a close friend who lives in Bennington and he and his girlfriend are hardley owners. Well, they are beginners after all. They are big, ahem,,,,,parade style riders, you know, Americade folks.... got something (flem) in my throat, no wait, oh, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. Sorry. I think if they are Triumph owners they should be allowed to bring friends that may or may not be on a Triumph. As long as at least one of them (in the group) is a Triumph rider. But this sounded like a Triumph Bash! Isn't that what the founders wanted this to be. I know I am a big Triumph snob but I was under the impression that the folks at CV RAT Pack wanted this to be OUR (meaning Triumph specific) bash...to kind of take off from where RAT left off. no? yes? I think it should be left up to the original founders of this grass roots event so that Triumph Badge would be the Marque of the event.

since I won't make it there, and therefore not allowed to talk...I'll offer a serious reply.

anybody who's civil, fun loving, and can say "motorscycle" is OK. humor is not bigotry.

here's the rub...limited motel rooms on a busy weekend in bennington with a thrown together happening...and not much to do but ride outta town in groups or monopolize the bar.

I would do the first one and get a nucleus of energy going where the following year there's enertia and dependability...and in that time figure out attractions with vendors, prizes...you know...T shirts and tattoos.

if this is a cabin fever thing, fine, but if it becomes an annual groove with many many many participants, you'll need better structure. If Vermont is to be the focus, I'd move it to Burlington around the food fest and have a drag the serpent outta the lake onto the beach and spank it level of destination...that will guarantee success in years to come.

if it's just a quick drunk and ride 'mongst the insiders, you may want to be careful how fast it gets out of hand.

another thought for the future is may-june is thunderstorms, and kids don't get out of school until the 2nd week of June...so that limits responsible parents without umbrellas...and only the A list can show...good or bad?

I could see a regional loop...party starts in Vermont and location changes daily over 800-1000 miles with sights to see and local participation...Niagara Falls...Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...hookers in PA...tour the Triumph Shops, demand candy, and rate the attitudes ... (follow the Triumph demo truck for a week and bribe the driver for scooters) kill a couple birds with one stone. whoever can hang the full trip goes a week +, otherwise you have locals hanging when they can around schedules...hooking up for 100 miles then peeling off...that way you don't have to deal with location...it's all 2 wheels and eats breaks...with the occassional impromptu tech session.

in this day of instant communication it could be a Triumph Bash & Run...everyone gets a shot and sees fresh parts...if it rains we charm farm girls.

Dude - I have ridden with the Westchester BMW group and they are about as nice of a bunch of guys that you could ever meet or ride with. I don't care who comes or what they are riding as long as they are nice! You bring any of your friends!

I thought the idea of it being all Triumphs was a cool idea but,
I don't care what any one rides. I think if some one has a friend that rides some thing
other then a Triumph and they want to come along I am cool with it.
I will welcome every one on two wheels even Tito on one wheel

Euro bikes=OK
but HD=no
the HD riders wlil probably run into someone while they are admiring their reflections in storefront windows
and if it does ot rain, the glare off the HD chrome could be blinding
I'm not a fan of turnng this into a look at me parade
