Glad to catch up on the details, I was worried I'd miss out on signing up for things. As it stands, I'll remember to bring my chair if I hang out at the Paradise and have plenty o' pizza money ready to hand. That was a really good time, in any case. Thanks to all for setting it up again, in its usual slot! A few new details for me this year:

- I've given the VStrom a complete makeover! It now looks suspiciously like a white Rally Semi-pro (a Rally with good bits added on), but rest assured that it's really still the same VStrom. I swear. It has a bunch of the same parts but just sounds different, rides a bit differently, etc. Theseus' ship and all that.
- Camping again, up at Greenwood. For the new folks there are a handful of us up there each year using several sites, usually congregating around Mark's campfire or in the back field if the Rockers are there, too. Welcoming group all around, and the site owners are fantastic. They keep the place nice, are happy to see us back, and the showers are hot. While it's obviously not walking distance from hanging out in town, and heavy drinking isn't in the cards, the ride up is easy and the twisty hill on 9 is a great bookend for the day. Can't go wrong staying in town, though; you can care a lot less if it starts to rain or drops into the forties.
- I hope to be coming into town on Thursday, too. I miss the camping and it'll be another day of riding. The new VStrom still needs break-in miles, though that may not be true by the time of the Bash.

All the best,

I also hope to get there on Thursday. I have a part time job at a marina for fun so I'll ask for the extra time off. Worse case, they fire me and I can just go along on being retired!! Make sure you all bring your heated gear. Early June in Vermont can be "variable". I know, I lived there for 15 years.

Hi Gang,

I'm not sure how many people are going to be willing to lead rides on Sat this year. I know there are a couple key people not able to make it.
Please come with some idea of where you want to ride & have a plan. I would not show up on Sat AM & expect to follow a group. I'm just saying, have a ride planned for yourself or your group in case there aren't that many options. Hate to see folks standing around hoping to follow someone & there isn't anyone available. Take some time & get out & explore the area. since there is not a banquet group dinner, no pressure to be back at a certain time. Your day is wide open.

It will be great to see you Paul. I agree with Alan just go ride. If it wasn’t for exploring I would have missed so many awesome places and experiences. The flat tire on top of the mountain was still an awesome experience. Riding the Kancamagus in rain with Brian, ice cream rides with Rich, Jeff and Matt. Blasting with Jim Hamlin and Jeff to Lake George. Battlefield with King of Fleece. It is all good.

Hello All,

I am a new "member" and first timer at BTB. I lived in VT for 15 years and have ridden many of the great roads there. I am willing to create and lead a ride if that is to the interests of those attending. I would do a lake Champlain run and then cut over to Waitsfield and hit the Lincoln gap (some gravel) and loop back down to Bennington. Looks like about 250 miles or so by just a quick look. I could print out some cue sheets for those who wish to have them. As a first timer, I don't want to presume that some may want to follow a noobee but I have ridden many miles in VT in my life including the famous Puppy Dog Trail.

If you plan it out, I wouldn't be surprised if you have a group that will want to ride along with you on Sat morning. We meet in the Paradise parking lot around 9am. From there people split up in groups for the days rides.

Just found out recently my 5th Great Grandfather fought at the Battle of Bennington. I guess I will spend some time over there!

Long Trail, Druthers, Magic Hat, Whetstone, alchemist, burlington, harpoon & dozens of others.

4- 5 years back,(?), we did a group ride up to Long Trail. Perhaps this is the one you remember?

I will be getting there later Thursday evening. While my son couldn't make it, I did get an old friend to come up from Cape Cod. Mick's likely going to be on his GS1200, though he's had countless Triumphs and just took in a minty-looking '78 Bonneville.

We've both known our mutual friend Dan Bisbee for over 20 years, and he's coming with his BMW-riding brother. So there will be quite a mix of Triumphs and BMW's there at the Paradise!

Looking forward to this.

Looks like I can't come in on Thursday but will be around mid afternoon on Friday. I'm staying at the Catamount Motel on RT 7 about one mile from Paradise. Since there are so many pubs and restaurants in Bennington, could someone come up with a Friday "Happy Hour" location so we can all be at one place to meet and greet on Friday? How about meeting at 5:00 and someone just set a pub location where we can gather. From there, we can scatter around town for food and camaraderie.
There may be some rain in the forecast for Friday but Saturday and Sunday looks good.
