2021 BTB/Leaf Peeping Extravaganza!

Postby Skidplate865 » Mon Jul 26, 2021 7:11 pm

I asked for a new room this year, a new one that I haven't stayed in yet. While booking I was told, "...if you find that you don't like that room, we won't have any others available to switch to; it's the weekend and we'll be full up." I thanked her and said that I'm sure it'll be great. They are super nice at the Paradise.

What she said made me realize, this will be different than any other BTB. It will be during peak leaf peeper season!

Lodging prices are different. Traffic will be different. Restaurants, etc...

It will be awesome. But...different. Plan ahead. ;)

Absolutely right.

Alan and I were discussing, and we're going to make a few other changes this year too. Due to COVID and the autumn timing, with kids in school and most people's vacations wrapped up, we're assuming our numbers will be smaller this year, so we're going to make the event more casual. Instead of the Friday BBQ and Saturday banquet dinners, we're looking into getting food trucks to park at the Paradise, and making the weekend even more about hanging out with our friends.

I'm looking forward to seeing you guys!

Looks like I'm not going to make this one. I'll be in NC riding with the guys for 10 days. We leave from there on Friday Oct 1. First missed Bash!

I'm in! I'll be at the campsite at least Friday to Sunday; hopefully Thursday too if I can get far enough ahead at work to take Friday off. I wonder if the wifi is good enough to Zoom from camp...that'd be horrific.

this will be the first one I've missed; injured dog can't go to the kennel. I have to nurse him back to health for bird season in 3 weeks.

Dave, That is a bummer, you will be missed. I hope your dog heals up soon.
I've been making up every reason I could think of for not coming this year.
I just made up my mind on Monday to go. I hope to see you next year if not sooner.

Good luck with your pooch Dave. I plan on arriving tomorrow at some point. The air will be crisp and as usual it looks like ride back on Friday might be damp. At my old fart age heated gear sure is nice! :naughty:

Looks like I will probably miss my first one. Been battling Ulcerative Colitis for the better part of a year and a half. Yeah just as Covid started. On my 3rd try of a biological drug. Failed the first two. May still try to get there for Saturday if I can still get a room. Playing by ear.

Or guts in my case. :lmao:

Man, Brian that sucks. your health is everything.
It would be great to see you again but, you got to take care of your self first.
I have done nothing to my bike to get ready for this trip. I have not packed anything yet.
I will through some shit together tonight and head out some time in the morning.
If I don't see you my friend, get well soon.

Good time was had by all? Elise and I sure enjoyed ourselves. Took a few snaps on our Friday ride with Jim.

You got lucky if you had no rain! We got a little on the Saturday ride up to Cyclewise, and as usual, I got rained on Sunday on the way home.

Awesome to see everyone!

Sorry to have missed this years BASH.

Due to some health issues with my wife my riding has been nil. I did manage to make it to the Guzzi National Rally in Swanzey NH mid June but that's been it for riding season except for a few breakfast runs.
