Not much action here lately...!

Postby mark » Fri Aug 10, 2018 9:11 am

Hope everyone's having a good summer and getting in a lot of riding. Come fall we'll start the planning for the 2019 Bennington Triumph Bash, and I'll try to be better this year about posting updates on the site earlier!

I've been doing as much riding as I can. Sometimes limited due to high heat and humidity.

I did get up to Surry , NH for a guzzi rally.

I son't seem to be able to post any pictures in either a reply or a new topic...anybody got a solution?

Gerry, you can't upload pictures to this forum, but you can have them hosted somewhere else and link to them here.

Example:

If you reply to this, you'll see the code I used to make the image appear; do the same for your images, replacing the URL for my image with the URL for yours. If you need a place to host the images, I hear good things about SmugMug.

Not much riding getting done around here. Record rain & flooding over & over & over again all spring & summer. roads & bridges are closed. When its not raining, its over 90 with all humidity, then raining again the next day.

Its been a really crappy riding season this year in central PA. Looking forward to riding Spain in October.

Wow, really? It's actually been a great riding season up here in the Northeast. Hot, but rain has been limited to occasional showers. I've ridden every Saturday and every Sunday for the entire summer, and ridden to work every day. The KTM I bought new in October already has well over 15,000 miles on it.

You're always welcome to head north for a weekend.

Well I haven't ridden a bunch over the summer but that is changing. Bought a Tiger 800 XCA in red last Saturday. What an awesome bike. Went ahead and splurged for all of the aluminum luggage with waterproof liners. Stock with heated grips and seats, ABS, traction control and 6 rider modes. Ergos are perfect for me. Can ride all day with no pain. I think I love this bike.

I have just been completely impressed every time I ride it. I sent PETE a few texts and realized you guys might be out of the country when he did not respond. Have a great time on your trip. I'm sure you are.

Now that I have my new bike it is going to rain every day and as soon as it stops it is going to drop into the 20s and 30s. I know I could ride in the rain, and that may happen soon.

Well, we've had a shitty riding season here in pa this year. Now we're getting 5 to 8 inches of snow on Thursday Already.

Congrats on the Tiger, Paul. I bought a '12 Tiger Explorer in March '18. Even my old version is pretty crazy coming from a modern classic. I hope you kept the Scrambler. I haven't been able to part with my T100 myself even though I can only store 2 bikes here though the NH winter. I stored my T100 and my wife's Bonnie at home, and brought the Explorer to the local Harley dealer to store through the winter. We got 4" of snow the night after the day I rode the Explorer over to the Harley dealership. I had only packed the other two bikes away the weekend before. It's closer than I ever cut it before.

My wife and I were at your table this year. I've got to make my '19 BTB reservation, but I do intend to. I don't think she will be coming in '19 because of a job change.

Regards,

Still have the Scrambler so far but I find it hard to keep two bikes up, and always having to decide which one to ride. I may put the Scrambler on the market soon.

Look forward to seeing you at the 2019 Bash.
