Hey everyone! Have the dates been set yet for next year's bash? I hope everyone had a safe and prosperous 2017. Scot

Given the Bash is always the weekend after Memorial Day, I've made my reservations at the Paradise for Thursday, May 31st through Sunday, June 3rd.

"Official" Bash events will likely start on the afternoon of Friday, June 1st.

I know when the bash usually is. There's been talk of moving the location. I decided to call the Paradise and see if the room's were blocked... and that's not done yet either so I'm just starting to wonder what's up? Mark or Al....If you need help just let me know if there's anything I can do.

Yeah, sorry, it's been a busy year with other stuff so I've been really bad about updating the BTB website. The 2018 Bash is indeed Friday, June 1, to Sunday, June 3. Alan and I were just talking a few days ago; he has not blocked off rooms yet but should be doing so soon.

And by the way, there has not been any serious talk of moving the BTB. The idea occasionally gets discussed by people who are not involved in organizing the Bash, but Alan and I have no intention of moving it away from Bennington in the foreseeable future. We had entertained the notion of adding a second, smaller one in the fall in northern Vermont, but I don't see it ever actually happening. Too much else going on.

Sorry to misinterpret your question, Tigerwilbury.

In terms of helping out- after 7 years of Bash attendance, and benefiting from MarkBVT’s ride leadership, I’d like to volunteer to lead a brisk-paced (not fast, not slow) Central VT-ish ride this year of up to 6-8 people.

Hopefully with more ride leaders we can bring the average ride size down- I’ve found the rides go far more smoothly with reasonably sized groups.

Thanks Marc, I'll take you up on that, but I'm afraid you can't be too choosy about ride size. If more than 6-8 people want to go on your ride, it's kind of difficult to tell them they can't come along.

But that said, the more rides we have to choose from, the smaller the groups should be. I too much prefer a group of 6-8 (or even fewer), but I've ended up with groups of 20+ before. If other people want to lead rides, please encourage them to get in touch with me!

I was actually on the phone with the paradise this morning. Another new person is handling group sales again, so I should have everything in place & confirmed tomorrow. I'll post up once I have the final details.

I may lead a ride this year.

We don't know where we are going and we don't know when we are coming back and if you don't like it, fuck you, don't come.

Kind of a lost souls ride.

Did I mention I just made my reservations at the Paradise?
