Bennington Triumph Bash

Howdy all,
I going to the bash for the first time this year, very excited!

Is there anything I should know? is there a registration I need to sign somewhere?
Any tips of advise is much welcomed.

Additionally, I will be bringing my van to camp in at the Greenwood campsites and may need some help getting my Bonnie out of the van if anyone is going to be around early Friday morning to help I would be very grateful.

No registration for the event, only if you wanted to be included in the Friday BBQ or the Sat dinner. Registrations for these were closed this past weekend because we had to turn in the count to the vendors. If you didn't already pre-register & you want to join us for those events, see Mark regarding the Sat dinner. He will be at the campground. If you are interested in the Friday BBQ, see Alan (me.) I'm at the Paradise Inn from Thursday afternoon on.

Me and my wife would like to attend the BBQ on friday, but if its too late thats fine. I'll try to catch up with you when I get into town. The no registration is awesome, I mostly asked cause I wanted to double check (I knew the site didn't say anything about it).

I'm leaving at 5am thurs & should be in Bennington around 1 or 2 pm. Look for me there Thurs or friday. I have one person that paid that can 't make it. I also think the BBQ guy is making extra so friday shouldn't be a problem. Just ask around & people will point me out.

Made it back about 3:30. It rained hard most of the way and cleared up just before Rochester. Nice job guys it was great.

back home at 5pm. 3 hours nice weather, 4.5 hours rain. 1073 miles for the weekend. another great bash.

Got home about 2, dry ride all the way. It's been a while since I had a dry ride home from the Bash!

2943 miles total for me through NY, PA, VA, WV, and then the Bash.

Got home about 8PM.

Good: I was totally dry the whole way, despite torrential downpour

Bad: that's because I was driving the u-haul with my bike in the back. I lost my key last night, and had not brought a spare. Stupid!

I got home safe (and dry), bike stayed put in the back of the truck over some challenging pavement, and I have a treasure trove of great memories of another year's BTB! Thanks again to all the organizers, ride leaders, and attendees who make it great every year.

BTW, my accidental BTB friend Michael is planning on coming back (on purpose) next year- thanks for making him feel welcome.

HAD A BLAST!

This was my first year and I am 100% coming back.

Big thanks to everyone welcoming a Noob to the group. I can't say enough about the organizers and the vets of the group putting this thing together and keeping it alive.

Marc, sorry to hear about the keys for the Thruxton.. hope you got an extra set a home.

Marc -- tell Michael he'll always be welcome! And I'm glad Jim found your key.

Ryan -- you'll always be welcome too, and thanks to both you and your wife for contributing plenty of laughs sitting around the campfire Friday and Saturday night! Also, you're not that far away, so if you ever want to make it over to Vermont for some riding, drop me an email. You'll see a number of familiar faces.

Thanks all for a great bash! The fun continues. I got in no problem yesterday afternoon, after having a nice post-breakfast brunch with family in the area. The same person dropped me an email today about someone turning in a lost Triumph key at Hemmings! Love how that happens. Mark, do you know who was the donor of the helmet I won? I'd like to send a thank you. Pretty cool door prize, and I think it added to our younger son's desire to get a motorcycle license (after he finishes getting his basic driver's license, that is).

Now if only I can find my spare set of keys...

It was a great event. I'm pretty introverted and prefer to ride alone, but I had a great time. Awesome that at the dinner Saturday, totally by chance I ended up at a table full of NH people. Maybe introverts tend to flock.

Great job Alan and Mark. Nice talking to you Dan. Next year may bring some challenges, but I hope to be back. I'm sure I'll be back eventually.

We took a scenic trip home, got back around 4:00. Another great event, well done Mark and Allen. I've been away to long. Dodie had a great time and can't wait to return. Also glade Scott made it, he is now a Bash lifer!
