Donations for Saturday night dinner

Postby KingOfFleece » Sun Mar 20, 2016 9:54 am

Friends,
The Sat night dinner, I'm sure we all agree, is a total blast. To that end, I know I very much look forward to the prize giveaway at the end of the evening. We've been blessed with all the items that show up for the event. A HUGE thank you to all those who get "stuff" for the event. I'd ask that again this year, if you can, please try to add to the table.

Anything helps-big or small.

All the best,
KoF

Robin has already asked Barber for a donation and it looks like a flag that flew over the track last year might be available again. Not counting it yet since it is not in my hands.

Went to Barber Museum for volunteer training over the weekend. It was awful had to wander around the best motorcycle museum in the world as a member of a guided tour. Taken back into the warehouse. Got to see the bikes that are not out on the floor.

The new section of the museum should be open by Vintage fest. At that point most of the 1400 bikes in the collection will be on display. At that point I would also guess they will have at least another 50 that will not fit on display.

Oh yeah, the whole point of this post. Picked up two flags that flew over the property in the last year. One a Barber Museum flag and one a Barber Motorsports Park flag. Those will be given away at the dinner this year. Kind of like having a flag that flew over the Whitehouse but even more rare and cooler.

There's probably an old t-shirt I have laying around or something...

Jim, have you seen a Thruxton R in the flesh yet? Talk about a home run. That bike knocks it out of the park. Seriously droolworthy.

No, not yet,
Jeff was in town the other night and we went out for dinner and a few local brews. He told me all about the Thrux!

See you all soon. Can't wait.

I saw one in the flesh...between my legs for 14 hours of riding to the Catskills and back this weekend!

Beautiful bike and a holy hell of a lot of fun to ride, but a sport-tourer it is not. I love this bike, but I'm seriously considering trading my Guzzi for a Tiger before the Bash just to save the buttache!
