Get Your Motor Runnin'....

Postby Skidplate865 » Wed May 13, 2015 9:28 pm

I have been getting excited for this year's BTB and about a month ago started working on getting my Scram up to scratch. So far I've done the following work:

1. put on a new chain & sprockets
2. new rear tire
3. new springs on the rear shocks
4. spark plugs
5. changed fork oil
6. repacked and adjusted the head stock bearings
7. new oil and filter
8. added a aux power outlet

Admittedly, I have to do more maintenance because I'm going out to Colorado Springs right after the Bash and my bike just rolled past 65,000 miles.

How about the rest of you guys? Anyone getting grease under their nails in preparation for the Bash?

I just did a little work to my Tiger -- new sparkplugs, changed the chain rubbing strip on the swingarm, freed up a frozen chain adjuster bolt -- and this weekend I have to do an oil change and plug in a laptop to sync the throttle bodies and install the most recent fuel map. Should also change the rear tire. That will have it ready for the weeklong trip I'm doing leading up to the BTB.

Once I'm back home after, I'll need to change the Tiger's coolant (may do that this weekend if I have time) and check the valves. The Tiger is just shy of 70,000 miles; it's been totally trouble-free. Awesome bike.

The Bonneville needs both tires changed too, but I probably won't get to that till June.

Jim picked the color, it matches the gold in the Guzzi logo.

He did an excellent job, it's a fantistic bike to ride.

If it had not been for the BTB I never would have met Jim and a whole lot of other great people.

On a whim just checked with the Paradise and got a room for Robin and I for Friday and Saturday. We decide 3-4 days with the parents was too long. See you guys in the parking lot of the Paradise.

Still have to drive but damn it we will be there.

I am really happy you guys are going. It would not be the BTB without you two.

I am willing to bet Robin will want to walk. Maybe we will just let him borrow the car.

We are really happy to be able to make it. So looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I lubed my chain then made sure my tires were ready by scrubbing them over a bit at VIR.
