Another BTBer with a new job

After eight great years with Bose, I decided to pursue one of my biggest passions. As of January 6, 2014 I am a Regional Manager for Triumph Motorcycles, covering the New England area. I'm very excited to be a part of another amazing organization that I've stood by for many years already, and for the many opportunities it will bring to our lives.

I was just talking about you the other day. Dave Rosen was at the zoning hearing for Jim Hamlins bike shop and he mentioned that a guy from Bose was the new RM. I spoke with you at last years Bash-I was hanging with Jeff F. on his deck. Good luck!

I remember and look forward to it again this year!

By the way, what did you do at Bose? I recently got a pair of 901s and am seriously loving them.

I started in Technical Support as a Specialist II for about 10 months, then was promoted to Team Lead (Specialist III) for about four and a half years, then became a Project Manager II for about two and a half years and working across all groups within the Customer Experience Center. I learned a ton during my time there; became a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, graduated from Bose Production System University, and a ton of other great projects and things. One of my first jobs as a PM was being a part of a team who installed 10 VideoWave 46" televisions throughout Gillette Stadium, all in one day. Many great things came my way and I wouldn't be ready for this opportunity if Bose didn't happen first.

The 901's are awesome. As long as you have the EQ installed correctly you're golden. And feed them some power, 901's love it and will reward you.

Did you know that the saying, "No highs, no lows...must be Bose!" came from people who didn't buy or didn't connect their EQ properly?

Yeah, I'm not surprised... and also, you have to use the right tool for the job. With their direct/reflecting design, there's no point putting the 901s in a big, wide-open space. Of course they're not going to sound the way they're supposed to if there's nothing for the sound waves to reflect off. My living room is pretty ideal for them, plus my very old house has brick outer walls and wood-plank flooring, so inside it's sort of an acoustic chamber, like the body of an acoustic guitar. The 901s sound incredible, with bass response I can feel in my chest. No need for a subwoofer here.

They're being driven by a late-'70s-vintage McIntosh preamp and power amp (albeit solid-state, not tube), so yeah, it's a pretty good-sounding system. :D

901's. One of the best speakers ever made. If I remember correct they were a variation on the old "sweet sixteen" concept from the founder of KLH.

Way to go, Jeff! Maybe you'll get that Tiger after all.

Thanks Jim! We will see! With my bike and a demo in the garage, space is tight, and I enjoy the RS a lot plus combined with it's rarity and condition I'm not sure I'd sell it. Why does Triumph have to make so many great bikes?!

Sure you keep it. Demo bikes are SURE nice. I was really impressed with the new Trophy. I sold one last year and the guy put almost 20K on it last season!

I thought about that bike REAL hard!

Dave R was our rep for a bit prior to the move "upstairs". All the best. You gonna be able to make the Bash?

Oh-and BTW. Gianni has been training with Pedro Lossa from the Spanish National Team (private lessons) and Arron Lines from the New Zealand National Team. Both have World Cup experience. I wish I had that exposure as a kid. He plays 5 days a week and got invited to be a sideline ball boy for the Univ. at Buffalo team. He's all boned up! Good for him.

Dave is my director now. I should be at the Bash without issue, and am wondering what I might be able to bring. If the Thunderbirds are going to try to break their record again, I'll see if I can get a demo up there to help. I might start looking for a 2 bike trailer now and see what I can do so I can have the RS and a T-Bird there, otherwise I'll ride the RS up as usual.

GO GIANNI! That's awesome news, you guys must be pumped! That level of coaching and exposure is phenomenal; I wish I had it at that age, or ever really. Good for him!

Easy to do that with the Tiger too...

That's mine in November, that I picked up on April 15, 2011. It would probably be 60k if I hadn't missed the second half of the 2011 season due to a broken femur.
