Got a new bike!!

Postby GerryP » Sat Aug 03, 2013 8:10 pm

Got a new Bike but not exactly happy on how it came to be.

On 07/06/2013:

A car turned left directly in front of me. Almost made it around him with brake and swerve but caught him just behind the right rear wheel.

a local cop was in the oncoming lane and pretty much saw the incident. Driver Said he did not see me.

lots of damage on right side. Beloved is probably totaled. ATGATT saved my ass. Attending police officer was impressed with my gear and how it saved me a ride to the ER

Most likely have to replace the Shoei Multi Tech.

Triumph Triple connection leather jacket held up well although scuffed up pretty good on back of my right shoulder and down the right sleeve. Right boot and glove took some damage from road contact. Right knee area of heavy weight denim jeans ripped.

Road rash on right knee area, around right elbow and rear of right shoulder.

Bike is at the local triumph dealers. One of the owners happened to be riding by , saw the bike down knew by the color it was me. He then made a arraignments to get the bike to the shop so I didn't have to deal with towing companies.

I'll have to wait and see what the insurance companies are going to do. In typical fashion I'm sure they will try and pay me the least amount of money possible then take out the deductible.

Anyway I'm stiff, sore, bruised but alive, have all my limbs intact and can go to work on Monday.

On 08/01/2013:

After a lot of thought and advice from fellow triumph owners I've decide not to repair the 01 ST damaged in the accident on 07/06.

instead.....Got a Totally farlked out 2009 Sprint ST ABS. Should have her next week.

08/03/2013:

Stopped by Libbys this am for a bit of paper work.

Got a few pics on the iphone of the new one out in the storage area.

I can pick her up this coming Wednesday

Me too. ATGATT is a wonderful thing.

Might need a new seat cover as the seat on the 1050 ST is different than the stock/gel seat on the 955i ST's.

Plus, the seat on this bike is the upgraded triumph get seat.

Gerry

P.S.

I gave your url to a fellow triumph sprint st owner (955i) as he was interested in the seat cover.

His name is Neal Wilson and he's from NJ. He stopped by to pick up some accessories that I no longer needed.
Also gave him the url for the BTB.

Jim,

I think I may need a new seat cover. I'll have to see if the one from the '01 ST fits the new seat.

Thanks.

The tipping point was that it had ABS.

Most likely it will fit the new bike. If not let me know and we'll hook you up. Again, glad it all worked out for you.
