Bad luck & Good luck

I just joined that club today. You know, the one's that have and the one's that haven't-crashed. I was out with a group riding on some country roads at a good clip. I came upon a tight turn that was off camber and couldn't hold it. I went off onto someones front lawn, had the anti lock brakes clicking away. I almost made it except for that tree... Luckily it was only a 6' pine but it sheared off my right bag :bluduh:
I lost my aux lights and brackets which snapped off the headlight assembly screws, cracked the right lower fairing, scratched up all the rest of the fairing bits and the tank. Good news- I walked away with slightly bruised shoulder and the bike was ridable. We strapped my bag on the back of the seat, JIm, my mechanic got out his tools and tightened the mirrors and looked over the bike. We went to lunch and then I went home and called the insurance co. I think I will go with different bags this time around. I should have the bike repaired by the Bash. If not I do have the Vstrom :P

:( As President of that afore mentioned Club I'm glad to hear that you're okay....and of course Tigers are tough machines...I've killed deer..hit trees in the woods while sliding in the mud...dropped the beast in parking lots...tipped over at a country road stop sign when I put the foot down into loose gravel...You name it and I've probably done it....You will be the better for it

Glad you're OK Matt! now you just have some battle scars. I remember sliding across a front yrad on my Honda CB360 with a bridge abuttment closing fast. Lucky for me it was a clear landing area. We'll see you in Bennington!

Thanks for the good wishes. Of course I told my wife I dropped the bike in the parking lot! Insurance guy is meeting me at the dealer Wed. I'm trying to buy a used luggage set at the Tiger forum. I'll think about replacing some of the panels or leave the battle scars on...

:scratchhead: let's see....dropped the beast in a parking lot...hmmmmm....quite a bit of damage for that kind of mishap......I left my original mirror and handguard on to show the battle scars.....makes for a good story....and when you ride there will always be good stories

She bought it! No need to worry her. Maybe I will paint the bike the 2012 red. Love that color.
