I don't get it on several levels. Why you did it, why we care, why your last answer to speed was so politically correct. This isn't the ratnet.

My answer to Speed wasn't politically correct, it was clear and concise. It wasn't directed at you anyway.

I know many people from the RATnet were frustrated with Monte's moderating, as was I on some level (or maybe I was just more frustrated with the level of frustration) so I thought the people that had essentially fled the RATnet would like to be informed of the change here on this forum.

And finally, you seem to have some problem with me, and I really don't have any idea why, but I really don't give a fuck either.

Was that too politically correct?

WOW!

Easy fellows! We are supposed to be friendly here!

I have bitten my tongue quite a few times here , there and every where. I have learned to control my temper a lot better, granted there are those times that I just cant hold back, but it does not happen very often.

Shake it off! and it you are still feeling tense watch a comedy. Peace my brothers.

I was once told that "Acceptance is the key to all Understanding" When I see myself in a mirror , I figure the guy I have to answer to is looking straight at me. and boy he's ugly. LMAO. Anyway, Even though I don't always follow the paths of others, I somehow get there.( I read incredibly a lot ) I suppose quite frankly, to be honest we all have a part to play in everything that we do whether it's friendships , Relationships , Sexual Rendezvous or just a meeting of a common citizen on the street. On behalf of myself , I have a part ( of course) in everything I do. So what I'm saying is I can't put any blame on anybody else because I have a part in it too (Whatever it may be) So I say Live and Let Live , Easy Does It. And we learn from our mistakes ( Pride, Ego, etc.) along the way.For Pride, leading to self- Justification, and always spurred by conscious or unconscious fears, is the basic breeder of most human difficulties, the chief block to true progress. With that being said I have to drop any kind of blame from my speech as well. Peace Out ! Speed.

Well put Brother Speed! As for me, I have a HUGE Ego followed closely by even a bigger inferiority complex! :-) I may be sick but I'm still alive which is more than I can say about most of the friends I grew up with!

>I know many people from the RATnet were frustrated with Monte's moderating, <

the problem is people with no talent playing Napoleon.

now I know everyone likes to wear the gold star on their forehead...even paint a 3rd eye on to demonstrate their insight...however you can't have the blind lead the blind in any meaningful way...or the daisy chain just goes round and round with fools jerking off on each other.

between Chuck Berry and Elvis...Elvis was over-rated.

along the way I came up with some tidbits of wisdom that keep me centered...one is: there's no sense to dump on anyone because everyone is condemned to be exactly who and what they are...that's enough punishment already.

I showed my low pegs and they took off...Monte came down like a thunder clap to squash them...D9 was happily whittling away...inconsistant.

everytime the shape of my mouth got iffy, Monte was there to keep me in check...Ill be 56 in June and have miles on me...I don't need a monitor...when things get tricky, I know when to back off.

there were times when I knew I was treading thin ice and Monte made it a point to appear in my thread to let me know he's on the job.

fuck'em. I was chewing up bigger ones decades ago...and frankly find it annoying as I lose steam with age.

congrats sweatmachine on the recognition for your input...let's hope it's enjoyable for as long as you enjoy it...wombat's a dick too...maybe you could lose him as well.

I haven't figured out why anyone would give Jeff a hard time over this. As far as I'm concerned, having him as a mod on RatNet can only be a good thing (as long as he's able to change it and not vice versa). I've been a member of that site for years, still read it regularly, but I've definitely been put off by the overzealous moderation. Wombat in particular seems to be suffering from rent-a-cop syndrome. If Jeff can help to bring it back to the excellent forum it once was, then I'm happy he's been added to the mod staff. Let's hope Monte quietly steps down, and let's hope Wombat follows him.

They took off my 8-ball choke pull and Side Cover Thumbscrews from the classifieds also. I sold these products for just about cost and shipped them free of charge to my fellow Rat's because I thought they were cool and better than the Big 4 retailers. I'm pretty confident that I did not put any of them out of business with these 2 items. I got into a long discussion with Shawn over it and never got a concrete answer from him. He has an excellent grasp on evasive rhetoric! I got the impression he was trying to strong-arm me into one of his stupid banners that fills his altruistic pockets with money; no different than he tried with you Rick! He got D9 to buy one and supposedly it has been on the RAT since October or November 2007. I have seen it only once! I finally saw the double standards that he has, and once again it comes down to either money or friendship. There were 2 other people selling products in the classifieds and when I pointed this out to him he simply replied he was unaware of it and thanked me for pointing it out. Well, you know what that says to me - that everything he said in his emails to me was pure Bullshit about selling items in the classifieds! You know why? because he just went in there, found me, deleted my items and moved right along on his merry way. He didn't think - well, lets see if there are any others out there that are selling repeat items in the classified without putting any fucking money in my pocket!

As for Monte, and in his defense, I think a lot of shit that got moved, deleted, or edited blindly was unfortunately blamed on Monte, when in fact it was probably some other Dick!

Mark I agree with everything you said here except the Monte part. Once again, I think he might have started off a little hard but he quickly stopped that nonsense. I really think that most of the shit that happened there was the doing of other moderators and not Monte. I think Monte took the heat for it though.

I think Jeff makes an excellent moderator - I just can't figure out why he would want that job? Like I said before, it's like the coolest kid in the school all of a sudden deciding to become the Hall Monitor! I'm on the Rat all the time and I wouldn't want the job - not even if Shawn let me post my 8-ball and side cover thumbscrews again!

I don't know man - it's like, well, seeing a Porsche with the keys in it or knowing where the keys are - and not stealing it and having it completely chopped inside of 24hrs with parts already moving on the market! Alas, those days are over fellas! Your vehicles are safe! :D

Peace to you Tito.

Sweat, that was a much better answer. Thanks.

Mark, I was just having a little fun. Can't help it if I have a warped sense of humor. I'll try to play nicer.

Actually I do agree with hedge's reasoning about the why of it all but sweat's answer to my(smart ass) inquiry did make a lot of sense.

when they brought the hammer down on me 11-07, I took a step back and can see their point...if money's moving they want thrown a bone...not a problem.

Seth saw my banner and wrote me a nice note...we had a nice chat...he was under the radar for quite a while without paying the dues and said my ad and his conscience told him to volunteer his ad...I don't believe he was strong-armed. I think that came from character. Seth makes nice stuff and it seems to be well received.

Not to defend Shawn or the monkeys, but you can't dance without paying the musicians...or they take long breaks out in the parking lot....

that said...I'm going to run the ad another month with some other stuff I have and enjoy the flywheel effect of the word of mouth long after the next bone gets thrown.

Mark, OK if I show my stuff here before I cast the pearls before the general swine? I'm making a tool set for the Bonnevilles that has a little screw jack, a baseball bat rear shock adjuster that doubles as the perfect spoke plunker, and an oil fill cap thumb wing that fits so folks don't have to bugger up the parts with makeshift tools...there may be more down the road like the D tool...and who knows what else...tools that should have come with the bike...and probably would have in 1936.

and I doubt the sweatman will be sucked into that...I see it as Shawn's response to the public getting vocal over Monte...look at it this way, they have a site that does nothing without the talent coming to visit.

how many times can you answer the question "what size wrench is the axle nut...because I'm too lazy to get down and look"

Hey Hedge...did you try them pegs yet?

well, I didn't "want" it, but it was offered to me. I was their first choice, and I figured I'd better jump on the proverbial grenade before some fucko zealout that did want the job got it.

Excellent answer! If you got the time then may the Force be with you! Smart money says that sooner or later they will tell you to do something you don't want to do or you don't agree with and you'll say Cya! :D

Be my guest. Just treat it like a classified ad, not like a promotional website.

I think I clarified myself with you Jeff and everybody else for that matter. I was being DEAD HONEST when I said "I'm glad you took the job." Hell, as for me, sometimes I get an attitude , trying to get handle on it. (pride) I'm pretty sure I was holding a resentment from a long time past , I don't believe it was even tied to you, but you were in the thread as well. I can only remember part of the reply , which wasn't your post- " They send them to school and all they do is eat the covers." Jeff I was so fucking mad that if that individual was in front of me ( of course they never are on the forums which gives them the balls to say nim-witted stupid shit to 'crazy fuckers' like me) I think I would have beat his ASS ROYALE. Today: It's all good , I better remember that when I have a finger pointed out , I have four pointing back at me. That's as honest as I can be today, cause I'm still a sick son of a bitch. (ism) Speed. P.S. I might be going out on a limb here and without finger pointing I've come to the conclusion that a lot of us have some Fat Fucking Heads Up In Here. Peace Out.
