Oh, and Whispering Smith was the instigator, (John B who I am trying to talk into going again, but he has gotten lazy in his old age.)

Seeing as how it is all his fault he really should get his butt back to the Bash.

We have to drive a cage but we are still coming.

"Here's a thought" or was it "Here's an idea"?
No, it was here's a thought.

Also, I posted some pix and videos of the first Bash. If you look back, way way back, to the first few pages of our forum, you might see the link to my photobucket (?) site. Think I posted the link within a week after the Bash. Still can't believe how much absolute fun it was. Eating pizza on the roof while watching Billy down below on the street continually circling the block on his Bonnie looking for your apartment. Must have been 10+ circuits.

1. did you attend the first bash?

ONLY SORT OF - I DAY-TRIPPED IT.

2. where was the Friday dinner held?
3. what was on the menu?
4. the most coveted location at that dinner that had to be monitored for capacity?
5. instrument played by the musician?
6. name or rat name of the guy that started the whole thing ?
7. who rode the furthest?
8. on what kind of bike? NOT SURPRISED IT WAS A BONNIE, THERE WERE TONS AT THE EARLIER BASHES THOUGH I WAS ON AN '82 HONDA.
9.year of the first bash?

SEE, NOT KNOWING THE ANSWERS TO THESE FIRST HAND IS WHY I STOPPED DAY-TRIPPING IT. DAMMIT.

10. reason for the first bash? SOMEONE THOUGHT THAT MOVING BELOW THE SNOW BELT WAS A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME, RIDER FRIENDS GATHERED TO CONVINCE SAID PERSON OTHERWISE, ONLY TO REALIZE THE REASON TO MOVE SOUTH WASN'T SO BAD AFTER ALL SO MADE A THING OF IT? JUST GUESSING HERE...

NOT on a V-Strom at the first bash, though if I remember right someone else was.

Guilty as charged. Though that was because it was a wet weekend, and my Bonnie was set up all cafe racer style with no front fender. Not a good wet weather bike!

But for 2009 I put the front fender back on the Bonnie and rode it. 2010 too. And then in 2011 I got the Tiger.

Robin, I poke in here once in awhile to see how everyone is doing. So glad to see you are doing okay. It was really fun looking at the answers to your ten questions and I'm still amazed at how a simple "Here's a thought" on triumph.net developed into something so fun that's lasted this long and seems to have legs enough to last decades more. As you said, from the simple (but totally heartfelt) "here's a thought", Mark and Tito took the ball and ran with it. They and you, deserve total credit for making this fantastic annual event work.
And I do remember fondly the first party at your apartment. Also, MisterMellow deserves the most credit for riding from outside Seattle on his Bonnie through tornadoes to Bennington. And if I might add, just think if this little phrase "here's a thought" hadn't been posted, you might not have paired up with that great guy Paul. I love serendipity.
Once again Robin, I hope things are well with you and your health and life in general. After all, you were the inspiration for all of this. And if I could figure out how to post an image, I have one of you from back then that I think you'd like. VINS parking lot.

I'm afraid I'd have to walk as I'm bikeless now. But you all will be on my mind.

TITO did not come up with the idea. Sheez, just cause he wheelies a speed triple into the triple digits he gets credit for everything.

It was not my idea, I am glad an fortunate I was part of it and we did it for Robin. I am there with you all in spirit every year! Hope to make it again one day! I do remember riding fast and pulling wheelies in the pouring rain. We got soaked. Always rode with Paul! Ans the pizza and the cigars on the roof were awesome!!! Great Times

Cheers! And have a Great Bash!

The rain on top of the mountain. I think we figured the faster we went the faster it would be over. That was a heck of a ride.
