No XC for me, I went with a roadie for the cast wheels, tubeless tires, smaller front wheel and (arguably) better road manners . I think I had about 400 miles on it when I showed up at the Paradise last year, but should be over 6000 this time. Wish I had more time to ride, or could ride for my job. If I could use it for work, it would have over 40,000.

I have added the top box to mine now, giving me 50% more carrying capacity than having only the panniers. All OE Triumph stuff because it fits, works fine for the roads, and I got BIG discounts from my dealer. Plus, it's absolutely water proof...so far.

For the bash I bought a matte green Tiger 800 XC. I traded in my trusty black 1050 which was a very good mount for 3 1/2 years and 36k miles. Now I am ready for more dirt and mud!

well I know that they have padded rooms for all of us from WNY! still tempted to ride the Scram out but that would break tradition with my fellow Tiger brethern and escapees from the asylum!

This thread got Tiger-jacked! Now back to our regularly scheduled program...gearing up for the BTB:

I've been using the rally as an excuse to pull the trigger on some gear upgrades that, because of the recession, I let slide for two or three years. Anyone remember what happened to my camp chair? It let me down (literally) shortly after this photo was taken.

Then we burned it.

So, this year I bought a Kermit chair. http://www.kermitchair.com/store/the-ke ... air.571315 Unfortunately, I waited 'till today to order it so I had to pay for expedited shipping and I ordered the wide one so - no bargain here. I am staying at the Paradise this year, but I'll still need a seat when I roll up and hang with the Kamp Krusty gang.

Also my gloves and visors have been toast since 2010. I've been using a pair of elkskin ropers as my go-to gloves for the past five years and my much needed replacements just arrived today. Surprisingly, I did get a bargain from Aerostich! These competition ropers! I got them on sale ($15 off) combined with $5 off shipping. http://www.aerostich.com/clothing/glove ... loves.html They feel great and I got the right size on the first try - very happy with these.

And back in the "no bargain" catagory, I ordered a replacement smoked or tinted visor today for my helmet (more expensive shipping). Current one is scratched to hell. http://www.amazon.com/SHOEI-CW-1-SHIELD ... 1100+visor I got thinner cheekpads and a clear visor a few weeks ago, but I waited until today to get the visor I use most often.

I probably should have ordered a new helmet but I'm not getting another Shoei RF1100 and I need to do more research before I pick a new helmet.

And finally, I completed my pack list and after going back and forth on the subject, I've decided to bring spares & my full tool kit. I know the chances they will be needed are relatively low, but I'm going with the 'rather have it and not need it' logic. As far as spares, I'm bringing 2 extra tubes, tire irons, a pump, F&R brake pads, oil filter, spark plugs, and lots of chain lube.
