speedo help

Postby LoVel » Mon Aug 15, 2011 2:27 pm

the night before i left for the bash, my speedo cable broke up inside the speedometer. i called my father in law, harvested one from his thruxton for my bonnie (ordered him a new one to be shipped to him) and off we went, speedo working fine for about 2500 miles. on the way home in north carolina, it started jumping a bit, by the georgia line, it was all over the place. outside of atlanta it died all together again. took it off when we got home, reinstalled it, but it is still jumping everywhere. she's an 02 bonnie with 45,000 miles. any ideas?? thanks
I am an individual. Just like everyone else.

I would sugest that you spin the speedo with a reversible drill to see if it works right
then look at the speedo drive: the "junmping" indicates a problem there

Robin!

I have sent my 74 BMW R90/6 Speedo for repair to Palo Alto Speedometer and it works great.
