Would the Bennington Battle Monument be a good place to meet? I know my two buddies and I rolled in after work on Friday, and had dinner downtown (after stashing our bikes under the closed drivethrough of a nearby bank - just in time - remember that downpour?). We saw a handful of Triumphs on the street, but otherwise didn't see much activity until we got to the hostel and stopped in at the campfire. The loose nature of the event was fine for us, as we had some great riding and saw some great bikes, but it was difficult to come in as an outsider when so many of the folks had "history" which we didn't share. I'm not saying that folks weren't friendly, but I can imagine a newcomer traveling alone might feel pretty lost at first. Also, it would be nice if there were a way to connect forum names with faces. Again, many of you have connections and know faces and names well, but many of us do not. Maybe instead of tee shirts this year, we could have souvenir ID badges, which folks might wear during the group things if they so desire. I have a laminating machine, and could do up some waterproof ID badges with whatever you'd like on them. These could include forum names, real names, your bike year and model, or even pictures with names if folks wanted to send them to me. I have a collection of these from events I have attended (including the 1980 winter olympics at Lake Placid from my college years- damn am I really that old!) and they hang in my office and grab my attention to relive some great memories when I'm having a long day. Just some food for thought.
